Early 50’s Stratoliner in a fine morning’s light.
Good to see you again. That Strat is a looker!

Off for a mushroom foray today. Hats Guatemaya palm straw will hopefully keep the mosquitoes off of my head

Hat a great Saturday,

Good luck on the hunt. I really like that straw. Great lines. It would look super with a wild color pug.

Nice felt for a summer day Bob.

Old Marathon or modern J.C. Penny? I like the lines and pug.
I'm don't know when Penny's quit using the Marathon brand. By the style and quality it seems older. It's Toquilla woven in Equador with a thin but high quality leather sweat labeled Genuine Panama, J C Penny and company Solar Straw and New York Made. The sweat is definitely not the bonded leather so common in the 60s and 70s and I doubt Penny's was selling Toquilla any later than that. So, I really don't know, any help with dating is much appreciated.

I was going to try to wear my 50's era Playboy. But I have decided to give it up, it is now posted in the classifieds. I'm a 7 1/4 and this is a 7 1/4 Long oval so unless I wear it very high on my head it goes wonky on me when I pull it down where is should be. Art says I would need to re-block it to a 7 1/4 for it to fit right. Details posted in the classifieds. :(

I got one just like it in my Moonhaul. Same size, and everything.

Stars aligning? Terry @T Jones just said he wanted a Playboy and he’s a size 7 1/4 to 7 3/8 so this might be perfect for him.

Wish it was a 7 5/8.... :)

Good Saturday all. The torrential rains have held off so far. Sporting a relatively low tier, but reasonably fashionable panama this afternoon. Have a great weekend!

I like it! The ribbon is nice.
My first Open Road. No wonder people like them. Soft and firm at the same time, beautiful color, supple felt. I thought it would be too"Westerny" for my taste, but it's not.

The crease is what makes this beauty less of a western. The original cattleman crease they came with is much more western.

GB Borsalino with backbow. Originally sold in Acireale, Sicily. I love the large wide ribbon. I wonder about the life it once had in the old country.

A thing of beauty Tonio. Is this Borsalino old? I know the US had a resurgence of the Back Bow style in the mid to late 1950s. It is a style from the 20s I think.

Nice color and brim on this Stetson Brent. I should look for one of these.
