It’s a very cool design but not for me. I’m of the same opinion as most here, you would need to wear it zipped all the time and I rarely zip my jackets.

I'm the same way but it's funny. If a jacket is too tight to zip it drives me absolutely nuts. There's something about being able to zip it even if you don't. Like a guy with a huge thick head of hair but chooses to shave it off. The option is always there. LOL.

The J-31 and all other variations are certainly unique, I am looking hard at the Centinela from Freewheelers
Is there a maker doing the J-31 repro as standard, or you would order it as a special custom?

There are many options to achieve this
Getting back to this one, do you ride? That would certainly make it much more useable. Otherwise, always wear it zipped up, and use it as a pullover.
RMC and DD make one. The DD isn’t on the website though. I’ve looked, and have drooled, but they’re not #1 on my list.

Who else aside from Himel and Score Sportswear? I heard DD and Rmc mentioned, but I haven't found many examples of this design elsewhere.
Just a matter of what kind of attitude someone exudes. The Grizzly sort of looks like the kind of jacket a pimp walks into a strip club with, pulling out a wad of condoms while screaming, "whose ready to f*ck?!" Kudos to those guys who have that swagger.
Perhaps. But that's also like the kind of guys who insist on wearing motorcycle jackets but don't ride. Whatever floats their boat.

In that case just get it, you will definitely use it on the bike.
I rode my bike for years in nothing heavier than a flannnel shirt. I'd only wear my leather jackets, almost exclusively, off my bike. I don't equate a leather jacket with someone riding an m/c anymore than someone wearing a B3 flying a B-52. I'd always equate the guys all done up in leather joe rocket get ups to be novice riders, who bought their bike, helmet and Leathers in a single, impulsive moment. And 3 months later their bike is up for sale on Craigslist.

I'm with you Tony. I've ridden since 1964. If I have to 'armor up' in the summer heat to ride my MC..hell I'll just take the car. I usually only wear a leather jacket on the bike if it is after dark and the temps have fallen, but I do pack one on most rides. Here's a couple years ago in southern Indiana. Thanks but no thanks..no leather for me.....
But I am aware that there are certain riders who throw a leg over that can't seem to get down the road much without sliding down the pavement at least several times a summer. I've seem 'em and try to avoid riding with them or around them. They need all the armor they can strap on their body.

Leather is okay in autumn / winter but yeah, I don't understand how can anyone wear a leather jacket on a bike in summer. I see a lot of people wearing a full leather getup even on the warmest days. Makes me wonder how it doesn't kill them. Can't imagine being boiled in that brazen bull is much worse... Used to ride a lot in winter which is when a warm leather jacket becomes essential. That's what got me into leather jackets, actually!

woah I didn't know this was a repro of a existing jacket. cool that it was made in Toronto too. I guess there were a lot of Canadian brands for leather back then.
Certainly...I'm not saying one shouldn't fully prepare themselves for the dangers of scooting. My point is that leathering up doesn't earn you any extra street cred or ability...when you see wobbly riders struggling at the start and stop of every intersection, dragging their ankles and heels like tin cans behind the "just married" wagon. In that same vein those who don't ride and wear m/c jackets aren't committing any faux pas simply b/c they don't own a motorcycle. In my opinion one has little to do with the other, especially given the power ranger, techno suit that most sport riders wear today...this was my attire the last time i took my bike out in 2010...all geared up for death...then the baby came and now my bike collects rust and dust!

Yeah, down here HD folks are usually dressed like you are, perhaps a leather vest. I am one of the few that usually rides with a jacket, though on some days I just roll with a vest. The crotch rocket bubbas are in the power ranger gear or simply shorts/jeans and t-shirts. Some in-betweeners but usually at one extreme or the other. I get a kick out of the dudes on the Goldwings-- many roll in just shorts, a t-shirt and flip flops down here. Yes, flip flops. Old school, blue-haired mofos that ride like the wind. I used to giggle until I started seeing their odometers. These guys put on miles man. Much respect, can't knock'em too much.

Saw one such fella on the way to Indy last weekend. Jogging shorts, tank top, sandals and radio blasting at 90 mph on a maroon gold wing down I-65. Made me a little queasy. In the city all I have to worry about are cabs and ambulances. This guy was like bowling with a water balloon. The few times I've taken any real rides, Tennessee and Kentucky I leathered up. Man no way I'd get on truck route in anything but full gear.

Ha, that's the guy. They do not mess around. Many down here are part of the French Canadian migration during winter. The only things queasier than their MC attire are the grape-smugglers they sport at the beach. You can't unsee that stuff.

I have never had any affiliation with bikes. Like at all. However, every time I see a Vespa I think of how cool it’d be to ride one of those around town in the 25 mph zone. To the end of the street and back, lol.
I ride my PX 150 around in my leather jackets.
Not in the summer though. If you wear a leather jacket in Barcelona you'll probably melt and dehydrate before you get to your destination.

I've seen the damage in motorcycle crashes on the job.
I have seen a beautiful biker babe with both sides of her face ground off (half helmet). Dead dudes in full gear wrapped around light poles.
While I fully support the right to wear whatever you want on/off the bike, I am never without a leather jacket and full face helmet, even on the hottest days in the baking sun. I do not mind sweat- helps to break in the leather and make it buttery soft.
Bones have a tendency to heal just fine, skin grafts look nasty and are very painful.
