always changing;)
Hi everyone! ive been lurking the site like an internet nosforatu for ages and finally signed up, to ask some advice: ill be 40 this year and was gonna try and hit the Borsalino museum in Alessandria, but apparently my 40th has horrible timing as the museum is closed for renovations. wondering if anyone had any inside leads on whether or not it will be opening before october 11th (im taking a ship from Genoa to Dubai) and therefore will be in the area. saw a couple people went to the factory, but it looks like thats quite a special occasion and I would have to know someone. without checking the factory and museum off the bucklet list anyone have advice where i might find (in Italy) vintage advertisements, door knobs from the old factory or something odd, weird and fun to have as a little momento for the hats i still desire and have since i was just a lad>

your experience and advice would be greatly appreciated!

The museum is closed until there are agreements between the municipality and who will manage the museum. For the rest I would not know where to direct you for the objects you are looking for. The dismantling of the historic Borsalino factory has, now, more than thirty years, so I think that little has remained of the furnishings, almost all of them brought to Spinetta Marengo headquarters of the new factory, the furnishing accessories probably disappeared. It may be that in Alessandria or the surrounding area there are some remains of the old Borsalino, try with the second-hand dealers and antique dealers in the area. For other questions I am available

Welcome to the Lounge York! I was going to suggest you contact Daniele before I scrolled down. That is the beauty of this place! You should try to hit up any antique hat dealers he suggests to you. If you can find a true vintage Borsalino you will be much better off than hitting the company store for a second. Just my hat snob opinion... And, like I tell every newbie...read read read. There are hundreds of pages of Borsalino posts for you to bone up on before your trip;)
