Today I received a early vintage Cavanagh straw. It had this "TRUSIZE" label under the sweatband. This is the first time I've ever seen one of these. How common were they?

Ooooooohhh!!You pretty much have to find some old vintage hat bodies to get a color like that. The blue smoke I've seen isn't as blue as your picture shows... and powder blue is more blue than your picture shows, like baby blue or sky blue.
I have a 50s bluish gray Royal Stetson that is blocked more like an Open Road, although it is not marked as such. You might have luck searching for a vintage hat in the color you want and then have it reblocked and finished in the style you want.

Have you asked them?
If they do not have what you want, they can make but there are minimal quantities that needs to be payed.
Colors can be deceived on a monitor.

I would love to have access to the cornucopia of colors they have listed in that catalog. Unfortunately, they have been less than responsive to my requests for color cards and availability. I still think an American distributor of FEPSA felts would do very well indeed.

Availability is always an issue with this kind of stuff. Or you do stick with what they have in the website or you pay for a batch of what you want.

Hell Joao, I'm just a little guy making some hats in my home hat shop. I'll have to settle for only the occasional FEPSA body. Thankfully I'm less than 4 hours from Winchester and have a good working relationship with them.

I don't know how is it with Winchester, probably the same as FEPSA.
I doubt any of them would do 1 felt just for you.

Thanks for all the replies everyone! I got in touch with Art and he doesn't currently stock something like the dark navy I posted but I'm still looking to get a hat after I research a bit more from all the suggestions posted, either from Art or who knows where it'll take me...

I’m surprised Art didn’t have navy in stock. It’s a common and popular color. It’s also a standard Winchester color without the high minimum order requirement. Was Winchester’s navy dark enough? Why don’t you reach out to @humanshoes and let him tell you what he can do for you. Lots of options for hatters.

Hi, I was just approved to join the forum and I'm hoping to get some information on a Borsalino hat I purchased at a thrift store. I'm an Ebay seller and would like to be as accurate as possible in my description. First, two questions:
1. Is it okay if I come to this forum looking for information on something to resell, or is it frowned upon?

Welcome! This is a great place for hat information.
There’s nothing wrong with getting good information for resale purposes. I would encourage you to list it in our oun classifieds where you can link it to your eBay auction.
Most all hat brands have their own threads (e.g., The Borsalino Brotherhood) but this is a fine tread to post to as it is read by lots of us. Certainly better than making a new thread every time you have a question.
I can tell you that lots of high quality photos will be appreciated when asking about a hat. The sweatband, the liner, size tags, and any labels or such behind the sweatband will be invaluable. If the leather isn’t rotten, flipping it inside out will usually reveal all sorts of information such as union labels, blocking, size, etc. Give us lots of good photos rather than written descriptions.
Lastly, there are threads on dating hats etc. and it’s appreciated if you put in the time to try to answer simple questions on your own. No harm asking, but often you’ll just be referred to the dedicated thread. You should also know that you will get a fair evaluation and not some crazy pie in the sky appraisal.

Personally, as long as that's not the only reason you're here. We don't mind helping people describe and list hats correctly. After all, if we can properly inform an eBay seller on how to describe and list a hat, it's to our benefit. And gosh knows most eBay hat sellers can use the tips.
However, as a seller, it's your responsibility to know your product and make the most of the listing to sell your item and maximize your profit. Everything you need is likely on this forum, but you might need to do some digging. We may point you to the right place for answers, and you might have to do some legwork of your own.
You posted your questions in the right place. I'd suggest you post photos and details of your find in "The Borsalino Brotherhood" thread on this site for more information on the hat you described. Reading through the thread may also answer your questions.
