Oh, how I wish this were a 7¼!

While scouring an antique mall recently, I found this very nice 1940's-vintage Stetson Turf Club fedora. Even though it is too small for my noggin, I'm hoping that someone here wil give it a good home. Here are the details:

  • Stetson Turf Club in moss brown color - no box
  • 2¬æ" brim with a 5" crown as photographed
  • 1¬æ" grosgain ribbon with wind cord
  • Stitched underwelt brim
  • Overall condition is very good to excellent. The felt is a bit thin with wear at the rear of the center dent in the crown and a small pin hole near the front pinch of the center dent in the crown. Both are barely noticable.
  • Liner needs a cleaning and the hat itself could stand a clean and block. No stains that I can see and no moth damage.
  • The leather sweatband is in good shape with some puckering. The stitching is all in tact and the leather is not cracked or dry.
...the bad news? It's not marked, but measures out as a 6 7/8, being 21¬? around the inside of the crown.

...the good news? I'm asking what I have in it. Ten dollars plus the actual cost of shipping buys this one.

I really hope I can find a good home and happy owner for this one...it's a nice one! If not, you guys might soon see an example a 6 7/8 stretched up 3+ sizes!

I was thinking the same thing! Glad to know that it's going to a good home and to a fellow Lounger! The Moral of the Story: NEVER leave a beautiful hat behind...someone will be happy to share in your good fortune! ;)
