Despite the price, I simply could not walk away from this one today at a huge flea market fair in Copenhagen. Seems to be very new and hardly worn. Luckily, it fit me perfectly.

Steve, that’s one of my dreams, going to a flea market, walking past a Lock & co with a perfect fit. Congrats! Brilliant find! I’m sure that whatever the price it was well worth it.

Very nice find, Steve. And in superb condition. From the brim curve I deduct it's not a modern one (thank goodness). Lock&Co hats are always expensive, but sometimes you just can't walk away.

It was certainly a dream come true for me, Erikhel [emoji4]. I paid about a third of what Lock & Co are asking for their bowler hats today, so well worth it. I'd have been kicking myself the rest of my days if I hadn't bought it.

Thanks, Stefan. I am so pleased I didn't walk away. It really does look brand new. I don't think it has been worn much at all.
The bow is interesting, too. There are two pins at the front then the bow gently rolls over toward the back, finally resting on the brim. It looks very stylish.

I bought this great bowler from Stefan. It was originally made by Boy de Winter of L'Hiver in Holland and beautifully restored by Fleur de Huu of Penumbra hats because, as Stefan says, "... it was in a bit of a state."
Stefan and Fleur agreed that this lovely chocolate brown bowler deserved a bold "look at me" bow. Good choice guys.
Originally made as a riders hat, the stiffness of the felt and solid nature of the crown bear witness to this, it will now be used as a town hat [emoji4].
I'll definitely keep my eye out for a L'Hiver in the future and if ever I need work done on a hat, Penumbra will be my first choice.
Thank you Stefan for saving this bowler so it could end up on my head and in my collection.

That's a real nice bowler, Bob. I like everything about it. I'm pretty sure it will stretch.

1930s looks right. Could even be a bit earlier.
My first. 1930s (?) Stetson Standard Quality Feather Weight.

Need to steam the brim back to normalcy and remove a few light dents. Will do so after I stretch it a bit.

I really like this color Steve. They were right about a bold bow treatment, really interesting.

I'm so glad it found a home with someone who can actually wear it! Looks good on you, Steve.

Now, this little fella really makes me happy. Made by Swedish millinery Karlskrona Hattfabrik (hat factory), bought at a local auction site. Doesn't appear to have been used at all, note the blue/golden tag that no one even seems to have bothered to remove. Best thing is it fits like a silk glove, could have been made for my very head.
