I bought this hat especially for this trip over Christmas 2017.
It must be happening all over. Over here(England and the Isle's) it is mainly 'outdoor' types of hat, that is not quite a trilby/fedora but not quite a full on bush hat. wide brim, pinch at front, usually unlined wool such as the Stetson Rantoul Traveller:
In some ways the Fedora is making a come back...you see more and more people wearing them as the trend is coming from all of us and from those we see in the entertainment area. I still get out and wear one of my Fedora hats, have people come up and ask where is my Husband as they would see him wearing his hats most often then me...when I tell them he is passed away the smile and let me know it is a sad loss and then tell me to keep wearing my hats, they like them.Thanks everyone

These are seen more and more with folks usually coupling it with a raincoat or wax jacket. You do get the occasional weirdo such as me though, who wears a traditional fedora style such as a High crowned Borsalino(Howard Hughes style) or Stetson Stratoliner with matching accessories
To be honest though, most of the British think a Stetson is just a cowboy hat unless they are into vintage clothing.
