I’m sorry, I didn’t take any and now it is a gray rainy day here in Berkeley...
I did wear the jacket Saturday and Sunday and got some nice compliments. I will be sure to take photos the next time I wear it, as I’m sure it is evolving every time. It is going into the ugly duckling stage now, where every little water spot or droplet shows up.

Man.... you guys.... I’ve got about 9 leathers. Mostly vintage stuff purchased because I like or liked the look of it when I got it. I can’t even think about buying the kind of jackets many of you are getting.... I’m really jealous! But I have enough love for leather jackets in general that I enjoy the hell out of learning more about them, and it seems like even after 30 or more years of looking at the damn things, every few months I still see one that makes me catch my breath, LOL.

So true. I have purchased quite a few Aero jackets over the last three years and finally found a nice fit- The 30's half belt in size 42 with added sleeve and body length. All the others: B3, Cafe Racer, Sheen etc. all did not fit quite right despite being killer jackets.
Then when I went custom with a Langlitz- WOW. What a difference!!
I am telling anyone who will listen- go fully custom; at least try it.

For a Lost World's 4 oz plus you really have to make it a daily jacket. That would be the only way you get some decent patina/graining/softening. JMax is getting something special looking there!

Been trying to wear it every day. Yesterday I rode in a CL and got dumped on by a rainstorm. Wish I would have had the LW. But it’s coming along...

So this just happened. That Cyber Monday free shipping was too good to pass.
Well done, lovely jacket. Great price, too, compared to the norm for this sort of thing. I could see actually wearing it either way around (so often with these things, there's only one way people tend to wear it, so the functionality of being reversible is wasted). Love that shaped breast pocket, reminds me of one of the Himmel designs. This would be a cracking design in the natural leather hides.
WE've all got our limits for what e'll pay or anything, though I've always found it interesting how often folks - myself included - baulk at a price they wouldn't think twice about in leather. Reality is, of course, that most of the time a very similar level of labour and skill goes into the non-leather jacket as the leather, and the only real difference in production costs is a minimal variation in hat the materials cost.
I'd also expect to pay more for a reversible jacket, given the higher level of skill involved in making sure it can work both ways around.
I quite like it! If I’d done a custom order I’d done it with handwarmer pockets though. That’s about the only thing I’d changed.

Very nice indeed. I see one of these in my future. I'm genuinely torn on the pockets; while I like the simplicity of the slash pockets, these ones give the design that bit mored difference with everything else I own.... (I never use handwarmers on a jacket, but I do like the look of them).
I believe this will be my 4th used and 7th overall BL. Thank you brother @torfjord! It stays in the family!

Looks like a keeper to me. From the back it has that Brando look - big shoulders, tight waist, heroic V thing going on. Looks a good fit at the waist too - not too snug. not loose enough that you need to pull the belt in so far that the bottom of the jacket flares out like a skirt, which can happen.
Depedns what you can take personally. I find, all other things being equal, I can wear a drill lined Aero in weather a few degrees warmer than a wool lined one. If it's too warm with the drill, you're likely going to find any leather too warm.
Totally get that. My 618 is a very nice jacket on its own. Not as good as my Aero MC for sure, but still nice, and I like having a Schott in my collection.

My favourite Stu story was the guy who emailed him asking if they had any lighter hides, only to be told by return that "perhaps you're not manly enough to wear one of our jackets." True story!
Very nice. Puts me very much in mind of the sort of civilian takes on various USAF jackets that were around from 1945ish-1965ish, where they would take the basic look, but make a design issued in nylon in leather or mouton....

This vintage HH police jacket by Eaglesons, an outfit that used to be based in California. If anyone has info about the company please let me know. I was looking for an old HH police jacket without side laces and snap cuffs rather than zips.

So just got this Vanson Maverick in competition weight in. I think it fits pretty well except for the arms, where there seems to be a lot of extra leather. Perhaps that's just how Vanson cuts their jackets. Also I feel like the back is a bit too loose, but that might also just be the trucker cut.

I think it’s pretty good. To the outside world no one at all would notice anything. Just us crazies who critique every little thing would say anything about it.

Though i think Vanson do cut the upper arms wide in general. Very big in my Model B, more than could ever be needed. A hair big, potentially fuctional, in my C2.
There is too much leather in the upper arm/shoulders. My last Vanson was like that also and I assume is a Vanson thing. Maybe their pattern maker was a weight lifter.
To be honest, not just us TFL'ers notice. My wife, who has zero interest in leather jackets always said the arms are too big on the Vanson I had.
