Clearing my coat rack in time to fill it with new jackets in 2019! :D

Please don't post in this thread unless you feel you have to, but pm me instead directly with questions. I want to update this thread with more jackets over the next days the new forum doesn't allow me to edit the initial post anymore to give links to jackets posted further down in the thread, so the fewer people post here, the neater this thread will be to read for interested people.

All descriptions given and measurements taken of these jackets were taken to the best of my knowledge and ability, please ask if you are unsure and I'll send you pictures. Sleeve measurements are taken along the side and around the curve of the sleeve.

I will ship outside of the EU, however be prepared to face fairly long shipping times, the German Post is incredibly slow with overseas shipping.

1) Eastman Flying Instructors jacket
This jacket is the one I have gotten most compliments for when I wore it. (Germans aren't that great with compliments.) The brown horsehide on the sleeves is gorgeous and the wool body in a intriguing shade of olive which goes great with the brown. It's a much more greener shade of olive than the fairly brownish one depicted on the Eastman website.

I picked this up at the german equivalent to craigslist in gently worn condition. Haven't put it on more than a handful of times myself. There's creases on the sleeves, no other prominent signs of wear.

Labeled Size 42, I feel it fits more like a size 40.
Measurements:
Shoulder: 48 cm
pit to pit: 57 cm
sleeves: 65 cm
backlength: 64 cm
the woolen waistband at the bottom hem in relaxed state: 41 cm.

2) Aero Leather Zipsleeve Highwayman

The one and only, the destroyer of worlds, the she's your daddy now, nuclear Highwayman. Originally ordered and presented in this forum here by Mendel, this jacket is made from the by far thickest steerhide I have seen on a jacket until now. It's incredibly sturdy, heavy and certainly undestructable, but the leather has seen some breaking-in over the year and has become comfortably pliable and feels great in the hand, in a thick soft waxy luxurious fashion.

I'm selling this only because I walk the 2 km to uni since I moved to a new place and find myself reaching for lighter jackets for this. As a result of that daily routine, I find myself rarely putting that gem on.

I recommend this jacket to someone dedicated to very heavy jackets, no less. This doesn't compare to your standard 4-5 lbs jackets in comfort and wear, it's actually really heavy.

This godzilla of leather jackets has the usual signs of casual and gentle wear you'd expect from clx leather. There's no holes or tears (Gl tearing a hole into that jacket. It's gonna tear you a hole before that happens.) in the leather, only light abrasions, creases on the sleeves and the like. The corduroy hem protecting the lining at the waist starts to wear through at some spots, I feel this needs no fix for a very long while, it's a purely aesthetic sign of wear. Please pm for close-up shots if in doubt.

It's labeled a 38 and was ordered with the request for a taper in the body to a 36. Imho, the jacket fits like a 40 and not even a tight one. I am 40" chest, 180ish lbs and can wear it with a thick sweater.
Measurements:
Shoulder: 47 cm
Pit to pit: 58 cm
Bottom hem: 52 cm
Backlength: 62 cm
Sleevelength: 67 cm (I feel they wear shorter than that!)

3) Langlitz Columbia

After I received my Langlitz Cascade, I was in awe. I loved that jacket and decided at once that I needed another one and bought this Columbia here only shortly after as I felt it was perfect. Turns out it is a great jacket, but whenever I grab for a Crosszip, it's my other Langlitz, the Cascade I got first. Probably because it's more casual with no side laces and no stiffened kidney panel. This one sadly hasn't seen more than one or two days of wear since I received it, which is a shame because it's a great, great jacket in many ways.

Made in 1992 (which isn't too old for a Langlitz), this is made from very hefty dark dark brown cowhide (you'd think it is black if you don't put it next to an actually black jacket) and has an insulated lining. These two make it a fairly heavy jacket, however it offers insanely great range of motion and the leather is very pliable and not stiff at all and very comfortable to wear. No padding or tens of pockets that make it too bikerish, this one works great on and off the bike and accentuates the male physique with broad shoulders and a slim waist. Two outside pockets, two inside pockets.

Only little visible wear on this one, anyone who's handled Langlitz before will know their leathers finish is basicly indestructible. No holes or tears in lining.

I feel this wears like a 40 or a tight 42, but there is no size label. I'm 5'9" 180ish lbs and it fits me perfectly.
Measurements:
Shoulder:49-50cm
Pit to pit: 57 cm
Sleeves: 63 cm (Not too long! Wouldn't advise for buyers larger than 5'10!)
Backlength: 70 cm
Bottom hem: 48 cm.

4) Brown Vanson Civil Flight Jacket

I was very, very lucky to be able to pick this up from a fellow Lounger. Brown Vansons show up only very rarely and when they do, it's usually that fairly unattractive pebbled brown hide. Not this one. Made from thick chocolatish medium brown competition weight cowhide. Old pattern which Vanson doesn't offer anymore and going by their 2000ish catalogue on their old website, hasn't for a very long time. Very unique piece. Unfortunately way too too large for me. It is labeled a 40 but fits more like a 42-44.

Light wear on the leather, no damage to the lining. Great condition.

Labeled 40 but wears much larger, atleast a 42 or even a snug 44. I am 5'9 180 lbs and this is both too large in the chest and too long.
Measurements:
Shoulder: 49 cm
Pit to pit: 61 cm
Sleeve length: 71cm
Backlength: 71 cm

I picked this up a good while ago but it just won't get worn for the same reason as the Langlitz Columbia; I like my Cascade too much.

It's made from extremely heavy (I'm guessing 4-5 oz) black cowhide, has a second, insulative layer under the lining, probably thinsulate because this jacket is fairly warm, one inside pocket. Cool windstoppers in the sleeves (see pictures!). Jacket has signs of light wear, some creases on the sleeves primarily. Certainly not worn much.

Measurements: There is two fit pictures of me 5'9" 180ish lbs wearing the jacket.
Shoulders: 49cm
Sleevelength: 63cm
Pit to pit: 58 cm
Backlength: 59 cm, but it has a front drop, it wears longer in the front.
Frontlength, collarseam to bottom: 68 cm

6) Aero Leather Cheyenne

Not much to say about this one. Made from a fairly thick and rich in color brown color batch of CLX FQHH horsehide. I bought it unworn from ebay, going by the UK 40 label only and it turned out this jacket runs like two sizes large, so it's still unworn and still waiting to get broken in. Nice batch of FQHH really, thicker than what Horween can source these days I believe and two inside pockets. Cotton lining.

Labeled UK 40, I am 5'9" 180 lbs and it is way too large, both in chest and in body + sleeve length. Fits like a 44 imho.

Measurements:
Pits to pit: 62,5cm
Backlength: 84cm
Sleevelength: 68cm

7) Schott Trucker

This one I scored at eBay because the leather looked spectacular and it was labeled size M so I expected it to fit. It has a made in the USA label and the leather does look great. It appears to be red overdyed with a dark brown, creating a cordovan-ish shade of dark brown with subtle hints of red shining through at points of wear.

Unfortunately this jackets size label is very misleading and doesn't fit me at all, to a point of there's not even a chance of trying to get away with it. Only reason I am selling this. Jacket has barely any visible wear, great condition. Leather is fairly lightweight but feels incredibly tough in the hands, there's something about the finish and probably chrome-tanning of this stuff.

I am 5'9, 180 lbs and despite the M label, this is way too large for me. The problem is not only the large chest but also the incredibly snug waist. Jacket is too long on me and falls way past the point where my 180 lbs on 5'9 body can handle 96 cm hem circumference. :D
I believe this jacket would look great on someone a tad larger than me 5'11-6'0) and very broadchested and slim-waisted, someone who works out a lot or is blessed with really good genetics.

Measurements:
Shoulders: 54 cm
Sleeves: 63 cm (this may appear short but don't be mistaken, they are WAY too long on my 5'9, probably because of the very wide shoulders.
Pit to pit: 61-62cm
Hem: a insanely snug 48 cm
Backlength: 64 cm

IMG_1843.JPG

Here's a snapshot of me sporting it over a thick Carhartt Sweater. You can see the sleeves fall to about my knuckles and the slightly scary 54 cm shoulders don't look that wide after all.

There is no label in the jacket, however I had e-mail contact with Gwen from Cal Leathers and she confirmed the jacket is one of theirs. Also, another member posted an identical jacket a few weeks back and he too had confirmed by Gwen it was a late 60s Cal Leather. (Here:https://www.thefedoralounge.com/thr...ny-potential-ones.89562/page-121#post-2453065) Same jacket, different leather.

I've no doubt about your jacket was really made by Cal Leathers, but I'm looking for a labelled one.
Thanks anyway.

Is the Aero Cheyenne lined w/ alpaca or ?
Thanks,
G.

No, it is lined with brown cotton. Which is a good thing, really. Atleast from my experience, warm lining on a car coat like that limits the wearability to too few days a year. I have come to prefer to layer accordingly to weather and thereby get more wear out of my coats.

Bump. Currently making up my mind whether to also list Black Heavy Steerhide Veste de Rallye and Vanson Stadium. They both have too long sleeves and I have to put money into them to have sleeves shortened and have the jackets fit me.. not sure yet in which direction to go. May post them and only sell if good offer, otherwise have the sleeves fixed and wear them.
