Got TSA Precheck yesterday. I was told that I wouldn’t have to take off my boots, but they kept setting off the metal detector so I had to take them off anyway.

Today...Baby Bonds meet Bama Bonds.
Uncle Bob (Hufford) put me on to some Willow boots. Since they were Bonds and Ostrich, well that’s a no brainer there!!

I know that real snakeskin will have raised scales as opposed to printed leather but what about lizard skin? The scales are so fine, should they still be raised to differentiate from printed?

I have three pair of Teju lizard skins and they don't look like that at all. Nothing that I would call scales as on my snakeskin boot, the lizard skin is skin without raise able scales.I know that real snakeskin will have raised scales as opposed to printer leather but what about lizard skin? Heres a close up of teju lizard. The scales are not raised as much as snake skin, but they will start to come up if they get real dried out, and you can pick them off. Teju, iguana, monitor, and ringtail are commonly used, with teju being probably the most common.
Here is another picture of the back scales of a teju. The most often used, rectangle shaped ones in my previous post come from the belly.
