Scarecrow Yah Ta Hey leathers

The machine translation on the auction I grabbed those pics from is tantalizing:

Bold text added for emphasis. "built to surpass the specifications of Lang Ritz" (lol, WHY does the machine translation do the R->L thing?) sure sounds like it's not a Langlitz with a different label. My assumption is that the "specifications" in question that are being surpassed are the weight of the leather.

"put the famous shop the rungs Ritz in Japan" is especially poorly translated by google, but I think it seems to be saying that it's from the same shop that sells "rungs Ritz" (another Langlitz butchering?) in Japan... which would seem to describe what I've been able to glean about Scarecrow.

So, the theory I favor now, that Scarecrow is a shop that carried Langlitz in Japan, possibly the first Japanese merchant to do so, put their labels on Langlitz gear, and as well has had some relationship with this mysterious Yah-Ta-Hey maker, about which I still know almost nothing.

Seems to be warning the buyer that this is some super heavy stuff, and not easy to move around in. I don't know what Gotsu means -- I would have guessed "goat" but I can't imagine that goat leather of this weight is even possible. I don't see it mentioned in the auction description anywhere, but strongly suspect that this is either super heavy steer or horse leather.

That is in no way a bad thing! Although, point taken, a Natal/Natel/Walter Dyer can be found for about 1/5th to 1/10th the cost of what I'm seeing these listed at.

Bad thing? It can only be a good thing! Best damn jacket I ever had so it's a huge plus it resembles it. Gotta get another one.

I like the blanket lining a lot. Would be nice if the shell was jet-black (I'm not so keen on faded black denim, but that's to personal taste).

To me, the best part of these jackets is the scarecrow label mascot, who looks like he fell off a 70’s era black light stoner poster.

I just wanted to provide some information on ScareCrow. The store specialized in American Made products. I started making jackets for them around 2005 until 2016. We made about ten different styles for this company over the years. One of the photos in shown on the first page is a jacket style I made for them. I have not heard from the company since 2016 and not sure if they are still around. They had some very cool styles that we made for them.

I still make garments for three very well known company's in Japan.

Do you have any knowledge about the tagging? Was Yah-Ta-Hey a label that Scarecrow invented? Did you put that label on them, or did Scarecrow? Did all of the Yah-Ta-Hey labeled jackets come from you, or did they use a variety of makers in the USA?

The label was provided to me by ScareCrow we did make many jackets for them but I believe they used other manufactures as well.

@Alan@JohnsonLeather was this yours too? Out of all the photos I've seen of YTH, I think this one is the nicest looking leather and nicest designed cafe racer type jacket. Really love that 4.5oz stuff you got.
