Hey Scott, Bowen! Thanks guys! I should stop in more often. Funny you should ask :) She's heeled up but won't let me lift that foot yet. I work at it most days for a few minutes. Eventually she'll come around. Been a long haul for me as well but I am back on regular now. Still doing rehab/PT. Seems I don't heal up all that quick these days :) But sure glad to have turned a corner. regards, Dane

Bear (the few spot/white Appy) is my favorite horse. He's the character. Makes me laugh a lot. Brazen is my best horse. 14 years old, big, 17h gelding (for you non horse folk that is BIG) and really good with children and pets  This is him "smiling" for the camera today :D About to take a leg off . Might as well be a mare as jealous as he gets with any other horse around.

If you have horses and work with them everyday things can get pretty casual. Horses trust you and you in turn, trust the horses. If things go bad they can do so in a hurry. Good, bad or indifferent ya never want to be on the wrong side of a 1000# knuckle head.

I make the majority of my own hats. Couple of reasons for that but likely the most important to me is having a nice hat that didn't cost a huge chunk of change for obvious reasons.

I had to spend a few minutes with a steam kettle to reshape my hat today after one of my buds grabbed my hat/and me by the brim and shook me like a rag doll. My bad for the lack of before and after photos. May be next time?! Kinda funny really, but didn't do the hat any good. If the horse got serious about the flanging, you wouldn't want to still be in the hat! No harm no foul this time around. Hat steamed out just fine. Bite marks and all. All ears in tact, all good, thank goodness. Just one more thing a guy needs to watch out for, "the hat snaggers"! I have two.

Your parade of No. 1 Q's continues! I had forgotten that one dates to 1958. Very nice BB!

Thanks, HJ. Lucky that this one still has the price tag. Inflation didn't hit too hard as I think I picked it up for $35. These #1's are great hats to me and about as nice a western as I would hope for. Would love to have some different colors.

Nice combination Bama! I really like the grain on those hippos. The No.1 is a beauty also, with a cool crease.
