Got to break out my vintage Saks Fifth Avenue fedora circa 1950. What do you guys think?

Enjoyment indeed Sir!

It was too cloudy here to even see the moon, much less the show it put on. The $16.50 is one of my favorites!

Wow! It sure looks like the CD is doing it's job.

We are cold and dreary today. Glad to see this one in the sunshine John!

Very nice Jeff. Very rich and warm color on that old Stetson. I like it.
Thanks Mike!
Hope it warms up for you soon!

I'd like one of those. I had a leather jacket with a fringe of coyote in the hoodie once. To my surprise, the coyote hairs really helped with the ungodly Chicago weather.
I really like Chicago in the summer, though. It really is my "Second City".

Looks great, Sam! What tells you it's from 1950?

I bought it second hand and the buyer made the claim, there's also a price tag on an old slip of paper inside the hat band with the price of $25.00 so from what i've seen of vintage hat ads it would have to be around 1950's or 60's based on the price. The quality screams vintage as well because I've put it through hell and it hasn't let me down yet, they just don't make em like they used too. :)

I was young and misguided, just 23 years old. I didn't even wear hats. Hoodies! Yech!
P.S. I just noticed I wasn't wearing a name tag, even though it was required. I have always disliked them. Uniforms, too.

No name tag, you're such a rebel. Further proof you're a leather jacket man at heart. The touch, the feel, the fab...wait, that's cotton.

So you like fur with your leather too. Just trying to put all pieces together. Hmm...how about a grizzly:

Rightyouare, they do NOT make 'em like they used to!!
If I were a betting man, though, my guess is that sweet little lid is no earlier than 1960, more likely about from the late 60s, and possibly early 1970s. A $25 hat in 1950 was a very special piece, typically with a manufactured edge, or possibly a windcord.

Maybe others will weigh in, too...

That's fair, I mean one thing for sure it was when Saks still sold quality hats. But hey, it holds up in any weather and looks fantastic with a sweater vest!

It's a GREAT hat!! You wear it well, (perfectly tilted, IMO) and you'll probably have it until you're my age, my friend! Thanks for posting, thanks for helping to hold it down with such a legit felt!!

What's your next color?!!

And a suit and tie! Looking good my friend.

I don’t think an entire pack of coyotes would be enough to tame a Chicago winter for this California boy.

Great look. A lot of us here prefer wider brims, but your hat looks perfect with your outfit. Personally, I think that my slightly smaller brims look more pulled together and a bit more formal and pair better with suits.

I thought @225sam and you were about the same age?

And this has nothing to due with getting in your good graces...what hat size are you again? ;)
