Thanks, Mike. Not a schnapps fan. I drink most of my alcohol straight up.

Oh, just checked. 33° in Anchorage.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
When I was in the USAF in the mid-70s we had a unit come to Elmendorf for an exercise. They were from Tyndall AFB Florida... they stepped on the plane at 24 degrees and arrived in Anchorage at 40 degrees. Cold sux.

Moving into phase II on the remodel. The bedrooms, which includes the "Hat Room" (my designation, not my wife's). So I moved the collection into the kitchen nook. I am planning for a much more organized Hat Room after the new floors and paint are done. Working around the house with a couple of errands in the Hat City Hat Co. beater fedora from the late 1950s.

Like many of the mid-western USA forum members our neighborhoods are very cold today. The air temps have warmed up to -24f already. Wearing a Cordova cap under a down hood.

No way, no how am I taking the cap off to showcase the interior this morning. Here is an pic from this past Fall.

I am still wearing the cap inside and warming my hands on the sides of my coffee cup. All you hardy folks be safe when you are outside today.

Best, Eric -

A bird hunting buddy brought me some schnapps back from his trip to Germany. He bought it from a farmer out in the countryside. Small batch distillery and all; numbered bottle. It was something like 80 - 88 proof. It had a faint touch of raspberries to it. As he tells it, the crap imported to the US is not the usual drink in Germany. A shot of schnapps was always had after dinner/before bed.

There's always great satisfaction to be had whenever an old classic can be saved and worn again. This was once a soiled and badly moth bitten '60s era Stetson 3X Open Road. I was able to size up and refurbish this old classic and give it new life. It turned out to be a nice little hat, and comfortable to wear. I'll have more later in the Conversion Corral and in the Open Road Guild....

Great work Terry. How did you deal with the moth nips?

The SPCH - Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Hats will be at your door soon.

Well, after it warms up.

Maybe spring.

Burning hats has been practiced for a veey long time, so unless thats a new Society then they are fakers[emoji23] tightens the felt nicely. However i do prefer not to leave any marks, but this hat needed something to cover up the glue, grease and pitting. Quite an update from the cheap thin felt it once was.
