Engineer Boots, Harness Boots...

RRL did / does a lot of stuff like that. They also find decent used western leather belts, which can be found almost anywhere for $5-$20 if you know where to look, and hang a RRL tag on them. These then appear in their retail space for $120 - $135. Good on them, but it makes me chuckle.

Back to the engineers. The new Attractions model in those photos look great new, but I don't think that pair above aged well. The leather looks meh and the toe profile morphed into nothing special - almost like a nice flat toed boot that was stuffed with newspaper. They lack the panache of their 50s version.

Still, I like that they're contributing to the options out there. I only wish my fat feet could fit into their boots.

they actually stopped, claiming they want to focus on selling house brands/products. Most likely because the overpriced restored shoes sold poorly (despite my own contribution lol)

Just won an auction for a pair of brown leather “Caterpillar Creed” work/motorcycle boots.

10 dollars and already broken in...with a lug sole too!
Woohoo!

I really really like the Frye boots I got for 90 dollars, but the lack of grip kinda bums me out because I can't wear them yet...lol.
Even after getting grips glued onto the bottoms...they still slip in the snow.
Strictly spring/summer boots, they are.

Be interested to her what you make of these. They look interesting - 6" or 7" shaft, I'd guess. Muhc more obust looking than mine. Mine are lovely boots (again, bought cheap on eBay). Wouldn't trust them to hold up as real motorcycle boots, but lovely and comfy and light to wear all day, can't knock that.

I'll definitely update the thread with info once they arrive.
I'm looking forward to wearing brown this spring, and these boots will be the first step...literally, lol.
They're low rise too so not too hard to get on in the mornings.
I think if these Caterpillar brand engineer boots work out well I may sell the Frye harness boots I got last month. They're way better than what I was actually shooting for and a bit too fancy for my tastes...now that I have them.
Italian leather is too high quality for what I want to do in them lol. Plus, with the money I net from selling them, I can get more knock-around engineer boots!
I dunno...maybe I should keep them just in case I have a formal event to go to...i dunno.

These are the James re-worked Sears. Arrived today, just amazing, the double leather sole, hand painted black, smoothed edges, the shape is like no other. Custom fit, a bit heel lift like a new pair of Nomad, but the leather shank will break in.

Wow, those look beautiful! Baker’s is a few hours away from me, I have ordered most of my White’s through them. I guess I’ll have to try them for a resole job next.

Hello everyone,

It’s been a while since I posted something on the lounge.

So I came back because I just got my Wesco Boss back from Brian at Role Club.

I like the color of my burgundy Wesco but the round toe and the standard buckles were not to my taste and moreover the leather was hard and unforgiving. It’s been three year and I have not completely break them up.

So at the end of November I wrote to Brian to see if a could relast them with his 2307 last to my measure.
He said no problem and this is the result :

I have essentially a new pair of boots, the leather became supple and the fit is even better (Although Wesco made them to my measure)

I don’t regret sending them to Brian. It is a lot of money but IMO it’s worth it. My feet already thank me.

Thank you for the info also. I didn't know he did all that, I only ever see him resole boots on his YouTube. Maybe I can get him to do all the mods on my Frye boots instead of me hacking them...

Thank you! I’m so happy with the results I think next year I will ask Brian to relast my black Wesco on his 1940 last and I already planned to send him my Wolverine 1K they’re in need of a good resole.

I think you mean burgundy if you are referencing to the color of my boots.

I don’t know if Wesco does boots in cordovan, Brian have made some.

Yes, I meant the colour. I tend to think cordovan, from the French 'heart of wine', is much better term. I have an Aero Hooch Hauler that is the same hue. Burgundy is a bit flat sounding if you ask me.
