Thanks guys! To be honest - I am afraid the TFL effect has already taken over! The good thing: I am super motivated to wear the hell out of this jacket to see how the Cordovan develops! So hopefully this will keep me from making any other plans...
a premier fit highwayman or seven would be great [emoji51][emoji28]

The leather is so awesome [emoji7] Update after day one of indoor wearing. Net time of wear approx 3-4hrs after applying some water with a spray can. The leather feels already way softer compared to the cardboard out of the box feeling...

Excellent choice and fit! Living in Northern California, I have a D-Pocket in Vicenza hide (for its lighter weight) and at one year old the arm creases had slightly shortened the sleeves just perfectly. I’m grateful for that additional 0.5 inch that Carrie had advised. Now the creases are lovely on the Vicenza and those on your FQHH will be killer.

I wish I would live in Northern California! You need to post some pictures of your jacket!
Exactly the phenomenon described by you is the reason why I added some length. With my boardracer they were perfect when the jacket was new and shortened a little after the first two to four weeks. They are still ok but this time I added this into the calculation;)

Update after roughly six weeks of wear (and occasional sleep).
Compared to my black FQHH Boardracer the grain comes out way more on the Cordovan. I am overall very satisfied with the jacket!

That color is striking. Don't know that I have seen it before. You got a good fit with that one. The graining process has already started. Your sleeves are right where I like mine. Having long arms I have always been sensitive to sleeves that are too short. I imagine you are the same way.

How did it work out going through Carrie and your being in Germany? I have used Carrie and Wade twice with very good results, but then I am in the States.

Congratulations on a job well done.

You are absolutely right! Being 2 meters tall and having long arms makes it almost impossible to find well-fitting clothes off-the-shelf. Arm length is always the first thing I am looking at when seeing tall people walking around.

The process with Carrie worked very good. We used my Board Racer jacket as a fit jacket. As Aero only alters body and arm length, Carrie was able to check whether I have done my measuring correctly. To cover for potential measuring-mistakes I also provided pictures from the tailors tape placed on the jacket. Additionally, I sent pictures of me wearing my BR. Based on this foundation we went through the Ridley measurements. Carrie said it will be a little roomier in the chest/arms and a little more trim in the waist. Thus she suggested to stay with a 46 when going with FQHH.

When receiving the jacket I was initially surprised how roomy the jacket was. She was right about additional room in the chest and arms, but the waist was more or less exactly the same as with my BR. Wearing both jackets back to back, I am actually happy that the jacket fits a little more loose than my BR. I think the Cross-zip style works very well when not being worn super snug, especially when worn not for biking.

Last but not least I sent some pictures to Carrie to ask for her honest opinion. As quoted before she honestly replied "that could technically go one size smaller, as discussed in the fitting process, but it would be quite a snug fit. If had gone with a lighter/softer leather, that would have been workable, but the CXL FQHH can be too much in a tight fit!"

I think the main difference is, that the jacket was sent to me directly from AERO without going to the states first. In short I was happy to go through Thurston, not only because the Ridley is exclusive to them but also the communication was super easy and efficient. I am more than happy that I have payed the extra money for great consultation.

I was just in the process of updating my "leather jacket data base", questioning the pursuit of finding leather jacket perfection and taking some measurements of the Ridley.
I have to say that Cordovan is just beautiful - I think the sunlight and shadow sections show perfectly how different the color looks depending on light.

This is why chromexel, and especially cordovan, is my favourite leather, it ages so well. It reminds me I must wear my own cordovan horse and steer jackets more often.

Looks great! I also really like the (navy?) blue lining you chose. Goes great with the cordo and adds some nice depth that black doesn't quite match (at least not the black in my Hooch Hauler). Awesome!
