How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

It is a mid weight horse hide similar in weight to vicenza but more soft feeling. It was nice and pliable right out of the box and nothing you'd have to earn or really work for to break in.
It was very cold here then spring finally hit all of a sudden last week and the snow is melting very fast so a nice, lighter leather jacket like it is good timing.
The only thing I don't really like is the giant, main zipper pull but that is nit picking.

Five Star Leathers (Pakistan) custom Hartmann. I spec'd the color, thread, and lining type. Custom made in less than 2 days, should be here by Monday. $140. Can't beat that. Guys on VLJ seem to be generally happy with them so I gave it a go.
Can't wait to hear the full review!

Received a new jacket today -- my third vintage Lawrence. This one is a rusty suede "sports jacket" and it's in superb condition. Very clean with no spotting. An interior tag indicates it had been professionally cleaned at some point.
It's not a heavy jacket and it doesn't have a thick nap, but it sure has a luxurious hand. I'd almost compare the feel to cashmere. Lawrence made really high quality jackets.
This jacket has a more minimalist design that the vintage suedes owned by @tmitchell59. It only has two open handwarmer pockets, elastic at the sides, single-button cuffs, rayon lining and no interior pockets. It's super comfortable and lightweight. A great spring/fall/chilly summer night jacket.
The interior panels adjacent to the zippers are a smooth leather, same rust color. Any idea what kind of leather it could be? The label only says "selected leather." Pigskin maybe?
I'd place this in the mid-1950s. That's when Dupont Quilon was introduced as a method of making suede water-resistant. Not sure how effective it was, and it's raining today so I'm not putting it to the test.

Beautiful Gamma and then some!!
Every pig suede i’ve seen has hair follicle indents throughout. I don’t see any on this especially the inside smooth panel.
Love the color. Very nice jacket.

I've got one suede jacket that is marked as horsehide, none of the others have a material label. I recall Ken Calder taking about sourcing the correct goat suede for his Majestic.

Thinking back to old times and having an affinity for suede and leather jackets. It seems to me that the convention for the term “suede” labeled in clothing was assumed to be bovine.
If it was suede of other critters it was specified thus differentiating it from regular bovine. I assume that was a marketing tool to alert buyers that it was not just suede but deer or pig or whatever, but different.
I could be wrong but suede seemed universally the same unless stated otherwise.

I am enjoying my new Freewheelers wool Wigwam jacket courtesy of @TiltRotorFlyer. We have done several jacket deals and all have been a pleasure. We wear the same size and I like his taste in jackets. I wish him well on his move to the East Coast.
I owned/sold a Real McCoys wool work jacket that was too small. I've always had my eye open for one is this shorter style. Buzz Rickson also makes a nice one. Style Eyes in Japan makes several styles, but yet to find one I can wear.

Actually, now that I look at it a little more closely, the soft smooth leather is most reminiscent of deerskin. I think that's what it is.

The smooth side looks like Capeskin, the lighter weight too. More fine and delicate.

Yessssss! Capeskin, that's it. I should've known this having just worn my capeskin A-1 yesterday. Fine and delicate. A side-by-side comparison nails it.

Capeskin is made from sheepskin. Not sure what part of the hide is used. It is light and delicate, which I think is why it's not as preferred as goatskin, etc. But it was the leather used in the original A-1 flight jackets.
