Gents, I just received a beautiful jacket made by Dave Sheeley. It really lives up to the high expectations I had for it. I've come (after trial and error) to the conclusion that I like mid-weight leather jackets that are traditional, simple and classic in their design. This one fits the bill! Dave was good to work with as well.

Not at the moment...I'm at work and if people see me taking pictures of my jacket they'll think I'm weird. Silly people don't realize how enthusiastic one can be about a jacket hahaha!!! I'll tell ya though, this baby is sweet. I now have three mid-weight jackets...An Eastman ELMC Californian in Havana, A Norshor in dark brown with hints of cordovan, and this baby. All three are somewhat similar in weight, cut and style but each is quite different in the little details that make them unique.

I agree... Dave Sheeley makes an excellent jacket. His attention to detail make the final product so nice.

Or as my wife refers to these little details, "delusions to justify buying the same jacket over and over." She sometimes is less tactful, "you are so full of sh!T", that kinda thing. I also prefer to call them "little unique details."

Great collection of jackets you got going.

Thanks for the pics. Looks great! I've come to the same conclusion that midweight is best for me. I just sold my Aero FQHH cafe racer that I couldn't get used to. I felt like I was fighting it, especially while driving. I tried so hard to love it. I rolled it up over and over, wore it while watching TV, wandering around the house, etc. Everything short of sleeping in it.

My other jacket is the ELMC Californian and it's truly cardigan-like. So from now on, it's Vicenza, Shinki or ELMC's Italian HH for me. I'm thinking a CR in blackened brown Vicenza for my next experiment or...I wonder if Dave could make up something in a tea-core shinki?

I'll tell you Patrick, check in with Dave Sheeley. He is a class act and if you're happy with the results you'll pretty much have a one of a kind. Good luck regardless. I like my ELMC so much that I almost went and got one in black but I went this route instead just to not have two of the exact same jacket and I'm happy that I did.
