I believe you want to search for "M65" pants or trousers. Rothco makes a replica they call "M-65 Korean War Replica Cargo Field Pants", and they come in OD, woodland camo, and khaki. I'm relatively certain these are not known as M1951.

*you can also buy a button-in quilted winter liner for them.

I just grabbed that photo off of google image search, but when I get home I can snap some pics on the label of mine and post them for you.

Hey guppy where can I find a pair of the 1951 army pants, with pocket flap closure? I had a pair of them when I was in high school and they were my favorite very functional, come in handy to a working man for sure

I don't have any specific source. You can get originals from surplus stores or eBay, and I believe there are a few reproductions made. Just look around.

Check my post above for a link to buy new. The M-1951 pant isn't the photo posted in the original post to this thread. The photo posted, with the pocket flap, is an M-65 pant, which appears to be part of a winter system that could have a quilted liner buttoned into it. Much like the M-65 Field Jacket system. I'd like to know the story, if there is one besides them sharing a similar winter system approach, why they used that same code when updating the M-51 jacket to the M-65 Field Jacket.

Well, now I'm REALLY confused and should start eating a little crow. It seems like the pocket flapped, 6-pocket cotton fatigues might also be known as M-1951, which does make some sense because it was part of the M-51 jacket development for cold weather in Korea. Both made of the same cotton material and with the same quilted liners. Why would they number those and the Wool Field Trouser the same? I don't get it. General consensus information must not be correct for one of these pants. Which is the actual M-1951? And then what is the actual name of the other?

The vietnam era 50's-70's utilities are my favorites. I like the 4 pocket variant. Vintage ones in 100% cotton are super soft and comfy. Earl's apparel makes a modern Made in USA version that's reasonably priced and well made.

I had a pair of those in college. They were comfortable. I felt like Gomer Pyle in them.

love the military look and cut but for my taste, a lot of these are too baggy. Been going with military "inspired" designs with modern, narrower cuts. Cool pants though featured on this post.................................

I found a couple pairs of USMC 4-pocket utilities in high school. As you said, so soft and comfortable. I found they wore out really quickly, though. I'm easy on my clothes, and I wore through both pairs in the thigh area. Never done that to any other pants in my life. I couldn't even make shorts out of them. I think that is when I moved to the 6-pocket BDU.

Nothing against cargo pants and I have a couple of pair of the German ones. But the military pants I get the wear out of are the wool serge models from the early to mid 50s, like these two pair I found at a thrift yesterday.

These are cut from the 1952 pattern and done up in 18 oz OD wool serge

Zipper fly. I have a couple of other pair from earlier patterns with the button fly, but in the same material.

These second ones are from the 1954 pattern and in a much harder finished 100% wool twill and in Army Green 44, rather than OD

These are missing the label, but judging by the construction details I would say there are cut on the 1945 pattern. OD serge again, but button fly on these.

Very chilly and windy here this morning. So the German pants from the 60s are making what is probably their last wearing of the season.

Very generously cut I would say. Nice and warm, good for biking or scrambling in the woods after some early mushrooms.

@Bowen, @John D Maccarter, you might be interested, I just picked up a pair of Non Stock M1951 repros, ordered on Amazon. They're great. Easily recommended.

I also have a pair of P44 monkey trousers en route from Bronson, which have just cleared customs and should be in my possession in a few more days.

Lastly, nobody better laugh, but I just ordered a pair of Bob Dong HBT Tiger Stripe Camo shorts. While I don't think these are a military repro, they are cool. When they come, I will take pics and post them here, as long as everyone promises not to make any jokes about the length. They're supposed to be short.

Aside...upon reflection i believe i already have a pair of those trousers in your first post. If they are the ones that had button in linings then i do. It seems i forgot to turn in my entire Marine issue cold weather gear from @74-75. Guess i was in the wrong line. Oops
