Hello everyone, I am Tom and I am new here. I have found some great information from this place and thought I share some of my own, specifically the Northeaster Jacket form Aero Leather.

My Aero Northeaster Jacket just arrived two days ago and below are some info and photos:

Size 38
Tumble Black FQHH with Antique Brass Hardware, lined in wool Tartan fabric
Shoulder Width 18"
Sleeve Length 26"
Pit to Pit 22"
Bottom Hem 21"
Back Length 28.5"
Jacket weighs 6.4 lbs

My measurements are: (Using Aero's measuring method)
Chest 38" Relaxed 40" Expanded
Waist 37"
Stomach (Belly Button) 36"
Height 6'0"

Here is what my thoughts on this jacket:
1. Design - I love this belted four/six-pockets design. The gussets on the shoulder back is a must for me since i would like to be active and not feel restricted, especially with the heavy horsehide. The pockets in the front are very functional and the design is not bulky which I really appreciated.
2. Leather - I believe I got lucky on this one. The tumbled black horsehide is heavy but also very soft. The areas where leather are folded, cuffs and bottom hem, are stiff but that's just because there are four layers of leather stitched together.

Below are some of my opinions and suggestion if you are looking for a Northeaster/Hudson type jacket:
A). Go an inch shorter of what Aero would suggest. This is what I did and it made the difference when sitting down while the jacket is fully closed. Check your blazer jacket and compare while sitting, this should give you a very good idea on how it will fit.
B). Option for the Fur Collar. It is a no charge option and is much more functional than just leather collars. I would however ask for a collar latch; this is not in the current design but I think it should.
C). Ask for belt loops in front of the jacket, one above each cargo pockets close to the zipper. I did not do this but I wish I did. This is the only way for the front belt to stay up and functional while wearing this jacket with the zippers open. See my photo, I use double sided tape to keep the belt where i though they should be. You could always put the belt in the cargo pockets (see photo), but I think belt loops is a must on this jacket and are currently missing in the design.

Very cool! Don't see these very often if at all. Great jacket and the fit looks spot on.

One DIY suggestion fit the hanging belt is to install a black top snap fastener on the front label & the matching spot on the belt, this is done by some motorcycle jacket makers. It’s the same idea as your tape.

The Hudson without a belt is the same as their Hercules (the one with front piping), but the Hercules without the belt is a disaster, the waist area balloons out too much, even with the side buckled tightened

Very nice review and excellent pictures. My Teamster is the heaviest leather coat I can handle in N Texas. I did order the back length on my Teamster shortened to 28.5" as you did, so our coats are easier to sit in. BTW welcome to the Lounge!
