I've never been successful in adding to the Top Ten Hats thread, but if I were to pick a single favorite hat it might be this Borsalino thin ribbon. The color "monlov" which seems to defy translation, matches nothing and goes with everything. Perhaps it means "my love"? The felt is superb - light, finely finished with a crumple that makes it a pleasure to form. But mostly, it just suits me and I feel wonderful wearing it every time I put it on... the mark of a great hat, no?

lastly a comparison shot with another Borsalino Ludoela of a similar era to show the monlov hue.

It certainly does suit you! It’s an amazing hat, and the color is so unique. I love those unreeded sweatbands.

Thanks Stefan. You are looking good in all of today's choices. When is the Hanover arriving?

Beautiful, Michael! I’m a real sucker for colors like that Hanover Square.

Thanks Jeff. Great Falcon Park today. Quite the color difference in that photo set.

Love the colors on the hat. Actually the whole outfit is great.
Thanks Bill. It's been awhile since I've had either the Hanover or the Norfolk jacket out.

Thanks,
Michael

It should (and probably would) make anybody's top ten, Alan. I like it more every time I see it.

Confirmation that you have one heck of a hat collection, Alan. Not that confirmation was ever needed. Plus, damn man, you look good in all of them.../QUOTE]

Nice one. But be careful around trees and especially conifers; their sap and resin make stains that are very difficult to remove.

Thanks for the caution. So far I have not suffered irreparable damage. Wear the hats is my mantra.

Gorgeous hat Daniele. Is that wisteria behind you?
Love the beachcomber Eric.

Thanks Perry. I do really like the Beachcomer and worry I may wear it to an early death.

Another great hat, and shoes Eric. Really the whole outfit is top-drawer.
Thanks again sir. Never can have enough costumes for a day!

Good to see you around in homburgs some more, Eric. You wear all your hats well and the homburgs are no exception.

Thanks sir. The homburgs and all the other hats on my hat rack need more head time.

Excellent brim and ribbon treatment!

Impeccable. To the nines, man!

Jeff, high compliments from you. Thanks sir.

A big thumbs up to all of the likes and comments the past few days. I do read them all and appreciate your comments.

Cheers this evening to the hat parade. May it never cease. best, Eric -
