TBH, I kinda like that he doesnt really seem to care what other people think. I don't et the impression it's a cultivated look at all.

Was that taken on "Come to work dressed as Dee Dee Ramone day"?
(though yes, it was Marky and Joey that had Lewis Lightnings). I think he still dresses much the same now. Vanian, like a fair chunk of older punks, is pretty much Mr 1930s in wardrobe these days (and he always looks great!).

To be fair, he was playing in pre-punk bands before The Ramones ever hit the scene, and that look is a pretty classic r'n'r look. I think if you asked him Keith Richards had a bigger influence on his look.

Most of us here own nicer and better fitting jackets than what most of these celebs are wearing with the exception of a few.
Also, a lot of these pics are movie stills or photos shot on a set or for continuity so the clothes they are wearing are wardrobe and not personally owned.

To the second point though I wonder if any of the known jacket aficionados like a Depp has provided his own jackets during filming? I know Brando rode his own Triumph during The Wild One.
Possibly. I know that a lot of stars that are into watches will wear ones from their own collection while filming.
Possibly for clothing also. Why not?

Admittedly when I thought up the idea of the thread I assumed it would be only the best of the best looking and fitting jackets that celebrities wore (like Justin Theraux and his biker jackets) that we could admire and take ideas from not just any random famous person wearing any old ill fitting jacket that nobody wants to emulate.....
