I love the Elmc version. Right up to the elastic waist. They should’ve used buckles imho. It’s a small detail but that would gnaw at me. I suppose the upside is you don’t have a slipping HB.
Btw, some original makers from 40s -50s used these elastic waist on the sides too. So, it looks historically correct (and nice to my taste, kind of quite unique feature - 'cause buckles were much more common solution then and still are nowadays).

This is true. My 1950s Lawrence half-belt has elastic sides. I prefer the look of buckles but they generally do not provide as snug a fit as elastic.

The side elastic seems to start in the 40s, probably came from military application. I have several jackets from the 40s with this style.

I agree the buckles look cool/rugged but don't fit like the elastic. The elastic just snugs up automatically and moves and breaths.

Yes, these are deals we find online, not personal sales. Those go in the classifieds.

@lucky23 keep us posted on that cycle rider. I hope the condition is good to go.

No doubt you know, but the LL is on a level significantly above the Schott. I think the Cycle Rider is the back-up in this equation!
Haha! For sure. Ive owned too many Langlitz, hoping this is "the one". The last one I had (goatskin padded Columbia) I owned for several years but was just never a fan of the diamond stitch padding. The one I just bought is also goatskin, but no padding:)
