For those of you who are hopelessly mired in the 40s, I highly recommend the following web site. It streams Big Band music all day long. Lots of stuff that you don't hear a lot.

Would love to listen but can not

Nuts Apple will open the site yet will not open the down load so I can listen.
Have found a few stations here on line to listen to and more each day got to love the net.

As a 30s nut with a taste for obscurity, I enjoy Radio Dismuke. Ole Diz is unusually devoted to German (never French) vocal music, but basically keeps a very eclectic 20s-30s playlist. (Dismuke's bulletin board is also where I first learned about the FL.)

There I learnt to love Artie Shaw circa 1935, do yourself a favor and click Artie Shaw and then click "Goodnight Angel" and after "Darling Not Without You" Sheer bliss.

I found that site a while ago, and I don' know why I didn't post the link earlier. Apparently the site gets daily updates... and I'm still waiting for the owner to post The Hut Sut Song by the Merry Macs.

You can find Big Band music all day here as well: www.wrdv.org. As well as jump blues, doo-wop and hot jazz. It's a real radio station, too- 89.3 for those of you in the Philadelphia, PA area
