My new A2 Custom Five Star Leather

Just received my custom A2 like. The sizing is absolutely PERFECT !!!! The leather is thicker than my previous G1. It's absolutely an outstanding job for the price. Thanks Shawn for this new without fault transaction...
Ordered on Tuesday, received 3 days later !!!!

Very nice, and the fit is spot on, Tefouane. I like the color of the jacket and contrasting knits as well.

Yes it's the seal brown with contrast olive stitching. You can order. It's really a bang for the bucks...Cheers

Are the arm holes high or does it fit like a suit jacket when you hold your arms out? What is the across the back shoulders measurements? And forgive my ignorance, but what do you mean p2p?

I can't answer because I have never worn a suit jacket. The measurements are customized so you can choose yours.

Pit to pit. That makes sense. Well after seeing how good that jacket looks I'm pulling the trigger on one. I just emailed Shawn to order a custom size Russet A-2 with rust knits. Pics to come.

I'm sorry to bother you, but I have a quick question. What zipper and nomenclature tag came with that A-2? I've been corresponding with FS and that's the one question I didn't get answered. The picture (was fuzzy)seemed to show a talon zip and bronco nomenclature tag but I wanted to verify that. I'm also waiting for the new horeshide that he said will be available in 2 weeks. Also did the jacket have the air corp logo on the windflap? If so this is a steal at $350 for the goat model and $425 for the horse hide version.

For those interested, Shawn makes a nice and neat A-2, for sure... based on a Bronco pattern, but its a copy of a copy.
The original copy is AVI LTHR's Bronco, which was copied off their original WW2 Bronco A-2 size 44 (same deal as with their 55J14 G-1, these patterns then found their way all over Pakistan). Shawn's and all the other Ebay vendors, copied the patterns off AVI's jackets.
So if you have questions about detailing, he won't be able to answer.
Not shooting anything or anyone down. Just setting the record straight.

I was concerned about that, yes. I don't want to purchase any illegal items. But after corresponding with Shawn and reading the VLJ thread I feel comfortable with buying one. While I would love to get one from AVI or an ELC or Goodwear for that matter, they don't make them in my size. I've talked to all of them. I've had a custom job from US A, SM WHOLESALE and an off the rack size 56 from cockpit usa, us wings and Aero. I've moved on from all of them except my SMW and I'm considering putting it up for sale as well. They all had poor quality leather and/ or a poor fit, except Aero and SMW. The leather quality of my SMW is there and its developing a nice wear/patina but its just too short in the body. Shawn said he can do me an A-2 in my size in veg tanned russet steerhide for around $350. That's half the price I've paid for each of the aforementioned jackets. So if I can get a good fit on a reasonable facsimile to an original contract jacket at a very reasonable price I will be very happy.

I feel your pain... Sizing...

Theres nothing illegal at all about Shawn's operation... AVI's patterns somehow got out to all of Pakistan's leather suppliers, I think everyone is over it by now. Just putting facts out there.
Shawn's jackets look the be very well made. I'd love to see what he can do with an original jacket in his own hands. I hope he can source one. I think he will make a cracking copy.
I would ask for leather samples first though... Sometimes steer/ cow can be thick and plasticy.
Make sure you post fit pics and a review once you have the jacket.
