Hi. Talking about sweatbands: I've enclosed a pic of a specific Pribil sewing machine I am seeking to purchase. Any suggestions, ideas etc. is highly appreciated. In addition, any information regarding that particular machine will be welcomed warmly.
Thanks to all,
Benny

I haven't seen that machine Benny, your going to have to get the model number to find any information on it.

My 2 suggestions for you are to go to the hatter sewing machine thread, all the singer models that members could dig up have been listed and a few Chinese company's that remade the singer 107 models and a straw braid machine.

My next suggestion if you don't have luck there is to start your own thread, once you get a model number of what your looking for.

Also with the wheel and the brackets it looks like it was made to make sweatbands, if your not making these by the 100s a good regular cheap flatbed machine from goodwill works if you have basic sewing skills.

Good luck.

Thanks for the response. The deal is that I don't have a model number. Just the name Pribil\ Germany printed on the front. Have you heard of the name Pribil? and can u send me the link to the sewing machine list you referred to earlier?
Thanks again,
Benny

If you actually would want to spend 2500 dollars and are actually producing enough hats a day you can get the singer 107-1 clone by a Chinese company. If your production is in the middle and you want to save money find a cylinder arm chain stitch machine from china for around 1000 bucks.

If your looking for one to make sweatbands a regular sewing machine will work unless your production is very high.

I don't know if your looking to stitch them into the hat or looking to make the sweatband.

As for finding a original machine, unless you want it for collection purposes it's not worth it and it'll take you possibly years to a decade to find, all the machines on this list are in that same category.

You can find new machines that will do the job if your production level is high, and if something breaks or needs serviced you can still get the parts for the new machines.

All the machines from this era had been scrapped for steel weight by the pound, alot had been sold to places like Africa as well for slightly higher then scrap price and also where probably scrapped.

I dont know how much more i can help you, and i have heard of the brand name of the machine but never seen the one in question.

Good luck

Thanks so much for the detailed response. I will definetly check out your link. Btw, I'm willing to pay top $ for the Pribil machine I mentioned. You have been a real gentleman.
