I've got to join the chorus and admit I like this the most out of all your FW jackets. The fit is great (to me the other two both have slightly too long sleeves but that is purely personal taste) and I also think the "simple" black colour makes it a little more versatile/everyday than the other two show pieces. It might also be a more subdued jacket doesn't compete for attention with all the accessories you also usually wear.
Dont take it as a criticism, you rock a great style but you do combine a lot of distinctive items in one look. Usually wide boot cut high wasted vintage style jeans, often "statement" colour boots, lots of accessories, key chain, hat, rings, glasses and add a statement jacket.....I think sometimes your eyes are drawn all over the place instead of having one or two key pieces that stand out......everything stands out!
I'm a very safe "boring dresser" so feel free to ignore me if you don't agree. This honestly isn't meant to offend so apologies in advance if it hits you the wrong way.

No offense taken at all. That was very well said and I absolutely understand what you are pointing out. I thik part of it for me is that on other forums I am on and on Instagram there are so many other people who dress wildly and accessorize more than I even do that I do not see what I do as over the top, even though for the most part, it actually is. I do disagree in part because I feel that the wider cut jeans, engineers, and leather jackets all go well together so I think they blend well instead of all being statements. However, I agree some of the accessories draw attention away from the actual pieces I am wearing and the black leather does look more subtle in comparison to most of my other jackets.
Feel free to disagree with any of the points I made, because I like what you brought up and would be interested to hear more. Also, glad you like the jacket
You have your personal style Dude, so just dress as you feel it is really honestly the coolest version of you, sometime if we re active on some forum or instagram, even on this forum, it is easy to get tempted to dress to score internet likes from like minded people you respect in that forum, very easy to get overkill in styling when everybody is pushing the limit.

I am very glad that this leather is teacore. This will help the aging give it more character so as you say, this and the Sunset have a wonderful journey ahead of them. I agree that I am quite happy with the Caboose's color right now, but I am still interested to see how it will change and develop over time.

It is a cool jacket no doubt, and the fit looks spot on, i like that the slant chest pocket is parallel to the angle of the handwarmer top stitch and the placement and angle of that chest pocket is very ideal not too high not too slant, The single panel back kind of too minimalistic compared to the front. About the style i personally not really into is the full belting trim around the hem somehow I dont like it on leather jacket , i like kidney panel on the back but a sleek front personally, and less ball and chain detailing, couldnt help but to think it might look cooler with a pair of chest pocket and no handwarmers or no chest pocket at all. It really is only my personal feeling, please dont see it as critique to a nicely designed and executed jacket.

IMO the Muholland is one of the most "forgiving" cut by Freewheelers for those of us who have a proper belly in stead of a six pack. The Centinela and La Brea are too triangular with a serious drop, Caboose and San Mateo are very slim overall.

I know what you mean, but my accessories are not part of that. The way I participated in the internet version of keeping up with the Joneses was by owning Red Wings which once I realized that I only had to get approval and likes, I put them up for sale.

Your thoughts are very similar to my very first thoughts on this jacket before I really got into Freewheelers. I definitely favored simpler jacket styles at that time, while now I adore Freewheelers' embellishments on otherwise classic and simple designs. I think I would prefer that the handwarmer pockets not have the zippers like you, but that may change in the future. Thank you so much for sharing man I can't say I completely disagree because old me would say something very similar to you
Haha true. Having worn it, it's definitely more forgiving than my Caboose, but fairly similar to my Sunset. The Caboose isn't too bad for me, but taking another two inches off my waist would make it nearly perfect.

DWTH just isn't that shape; he's too masculine. It's not his fault. But it is why every FW jacket he posts doesn't fit; sleeves too long, shoulders too wide, armholes too high, waist too tight/too long (or something).
When you buy a jacket and you're talking about bulking up AND slimming down at the same time to make it fit, doesn't that tell you something?

Every time I check out this thread I am in awe of this jackets beauty. I am a stickler for fit and believe this fits you very well. If you ever decide this jacket is not for you it certainly would find a home with me. Just a splendid jacket.

My wife is Japanese. When she was new to this country I told her how much I liked Japanese style, especially how the gents layered and accessorized. I said I wanted to get into the style but I don’t have the right body type. She said “Don’t worry, there’s fat people in Japan.”

Actually, I am working on my physique because I want to, not actually for the jacket. It's just a nice side benefit. Aside from the sleeves, I love how all my jackets fit and even the sleeves don't bother me much and could be easily fixed if I so chose.

I think the main difference is explained by the body shapes prevalent in each culture. In American, and let's just say broadly "Western" body types, our shapes tend towards endomorphism, a more 'oval' structure, whilst in Japan ectomorphism is more prominent. Here's a handy image. Thus even jacket designs and their measurements, such as the shoulder to chest ratio, in Japan is much more severe.

Well, this is a very happy day for me. There were always three Freewheelers jackets that I really wanted - The Caboose, The Sunset, and The Mulholland. I also wanted a Brakeman for a while, but trying one on in 2017 made me realize that it wasn't for me.
I know have all three of those Freewheelers jackets that I wanted. This one was meant to be for me. The jacket is completely sold out in my size in every store, but as luck had it, one in my size popped up here on the Lounge. I actually found it while just lusting after pictures of it on google images. Somehow I stumbled onto @cellini 's sale thread and saw that @GW KY bought it off him and then it didn't work for him.
Without hesitation, I contacted him and made sure I secured the jacket for myself. At under 10 wears, this jacket was basically heaven sent for me. My only real worry was that this was going to be the first black leather jacket I had bought in years and the last one I tried immediately went back.
It fits wonderfully. I am not sure if it fits better than the Sunset or not overall, but the sleeves definitely fit better. The construction is unsurprisingly stunning. The only "flaws" I have found so far are that in a couple places, the double stitching doesn't line up exactly, though it does in most places. I love that this is a "flaw" for Freewheelers. This jacket doesn't do anything to change the fact that Freewheelers makes the best stitched/constructed/finished jacket I have ever owned, seen, or handled, and I've handled most of them at this point. The intricacy and accuracy of their stitch work is so gorgeous that I actually sometimes just spend time staring at stitching on my Freewheelers jackets (and my White Kloud and Clinch boots).
This is the 9th Shinki jacket I have owned now. The leather is also gorgeous. Quite grainy in some areas and so far quite smooth in others, especially on the back. The teacore is already becoming obvious which will look great with my teacore Clinch engineer boots. Obviously there are more details that I will get into when I do a full written review on my website, but as of now I am thrilled to have this jacket. I adore the styling of it and the cut. The collar, the stitching on the handwarmer pockets, the bottom details and the cinches on the side, and the cut make it look special to me.

For sure. Seems to be a little less "V" shaped than many of their other models and therefore easier to it to fit different body types.

Thank you! It's certainly the most flattering jacket on me. I do love having a quality camera to take these pictures. It's quite fun and I use it for a wide variety of purposes.
DWTH, I like your whole style in outerwear, I mean not only boots or jackets, but how well it "works" altogether. Really like it, my sincere respect Sir!
