Better late than never. Today it happened, and before this afternoon’s rain I finally started my straw season with a Panama Hats Direct fino fino “Havana!”

I took an early evening tonight so I could be home to enjoy a fire and a barbeque. A vintage Adams (Executive in Buckskin hued felt and ribbon treatment) was my hat to start my evening activities.

I love the gilled ribbon hats. The gills add a real visual appeal to me. This Adam offered hat came in 7 gills and 5 gills i the same decade, model and same quality designation.

The longer I wear hats the more I like the taller crowns. I think a western with a 3 1/8 to 3 1/2 inch brim and a 6 to 6 1/2 inch crown is my current favorite.

I wore that old silverbelly I've shown that way for a couple months with the crown open. It would be oh so easy to get used to.
It would negatively effect the employ of hatters though, so i now jeer at anyonethat does it.
Jeer! Jeer! Jeer!

It sure needs some cleaning, but I cant forego a 2 3/4" brim on a rainy day now that I have one, can I?
My courier and I made the transfer yesterday. This is the Marathon. The other is a Mallory of the same vintage, with a diamond, a bit more gold in the color, and a sweat band only connected for a couple of inches . It's intact, and isnt reeded, so I believe I can sew it right back in.

Both hats are tag rich with failing glue i figure on kerping them in labeled bags. Is that commom, or do you glue them back in?

I would use double sided tape.

In my humble opinion, there's a lot to like about that Portis. The rake especially stands out. Looks good on you, too. No wonder your better half finds you irresistible [emoji4]

Stay on the safe side. Never let anyone else wear it around your wife.
