The chest measurement is 109cm in this case which is quite wide for a size 38 - I guess this is more US size 38 than Japanese size 38 which would be more likely 103-104cm (at least many Freewheelers).

Yes! Had to try it, looked so good. No measurements posted, so I pray it fits. After having seen the measurements of Brooks in size 40 and 42 before this should fit me. Biggest question mark is the sleeve length, but we'll see.

IMO, you couldn't have bought a nicer Brooks. Despite being more recently produced, the black / red label ones seem to be made from the nicest leather, certainly heavier, and the proportions look so much better. Bit shorter with longer sleeves. Also, these actually are made in the USA. Brooks was outsourcing back in the days, that's why there's rarely a Made in USA tag in any of the yellow logo ones.
