As I always do, Bowen, I try to guess what your hat is without reading the notes. I have now reached a percentage of 80%, however your hats are fantastic
Thanks Daniele, i’m honored at your attention!
80% speaks highly of your skills and poorly of my habitual selections. I try not to post hats i really don’t wear much but it sounds like i need to start throwing some curve balls. I’ll see what i can do to lower that score a bit! Lol.
Thanks again.
B
Ps: on my best game i could never guess your’s....just dream about them!

The big brim palms make great farm hats that you can dunk in a stock tank or rain barrel when it's really hot out.

Today....Alan’s post about never forgetting one’s first Borsalino was spot on. This is my first real Borsalino in Featherweight form and it certainly is. I recall the elation that i finally had one. It was top dog...for awhile. Lol
Be well. Bowen
There's nothing like ones first Borsalino, Bowen. It's like the first cup of coffee of the day [emoji4].
I love the design of the thin ribbon and the way the brim binding compliments it. Super quality Borsalino touch there.

Envy is a terrible sin, but I'm not ashamed to say the green eyed monster has risen it's ugly head over the last few days looking at all the wonderful hats you guys have been wearing and posting. My envy is a sign of admiration. I doff my humble cap to you all.
"Luckily" it was coldish enough for me to don this 1950s Battersby Homburg on my evening walk this evening.
I love the fact that it was made in Manchester, sold in Finland, found it's way to Holland (Stefan), and finally ended up in its rightful home here with me in Elsinore, Denmark [emoji4].

Well, I heard back from my doctor about my MRI. Back is hamburger. He used a lot of big words about my discs in my lower back, but all I remember is "moderate to severe". We are going to try injections of cortisone (no fun I'm sure) as opposed to surgery. I have been totally worthless since February, constant pain, no sleep. It has been hard to function on just a couple hours of sleep every night for 4 months.

Going out today in the sunshine to pick up some prescriptions. My easiest straw to get my hands on was my Cappas Bogart. It will be nice around here for a week or so. Better get my winter hats into storage and break out the straw collection.

Went to see Mike Miller yesterday, I have some photography to do. And, I'm looking forward to my newest commission of a really special straw! (more on that later) I have been out of the loop tooooooo long!

Good to see you posting semi-regularly, Mike. Hope you are responsive to treatment. We're all pulling for you.

Still stormy and on the coolish side here. Many are still recovering from the 17-18? twisters on Monday. Thank goodness we were spared.

I'm under my Mallory Commander today.

Stumbling around today in this old crusty, worn Resistol Beaver Twenty Five. A typical shade of "silverbelly" for Resistol at the time. Verdigris ate through the brim at the ferrule and destroyed the ribbon and wind cord. A pic to Scott remedied that. The original ribbon matched the binding but Scott landed on a contrasting ribbon that picked up the green hues these felts have and I like it. Subtle contrast is good. I had a pristine model in a late 50-early 60's hat that I sold. Just not the same.

Nice wide brim palm, Dessert Dog, and an especially nice looking mandolin. Any chance of hearing your picking?

I haven't even figured out how to post YouTube videos! You are lucky you don't have to hear me! Although there are a couple guitar pickers on the lounge, that I think would be fun to jam with!
