Dobbs longhair circa WWII:
Color has been difficult to accurately capture, though the first three images are pretty close (as seen on my tablet screen) regarding the felt. In person I would describe the felt color as evergreen. The ribbon is black.
Specs:
The sweatband is rather supple and the five lobe sweatband bow is a nice touch. I did find find residue on the back on the sweatband where the size label would have been attached but alas, no label. There also is a very small partial store label behind the sweatband, but it is torn and only shows the store name (so no price...bummer.)
The color makes this hat a bit difficult to coordinate for regular wear, but then again a hat this unique probably abides by the maxim "less is more." All in all an incredible hat. I consider myself lucky to be the current custodian.

The felt is lusciously soft to the touch and wonderfully easy to manipulate. This includes the brim which definitely isn't a snap brim, yet nor is it floppy. (Not sure if this is characteristic of a longhair finish, 40s felt, combination of the above, something else... Since my collection is so small I don't have anything to compare it to, so please forgive this poor description.) Looking back through this thread I found five or six examples of hats with the "Improved Felted Welt Edge" but none were on a longhair finish.5.50" Crown (open)
