The Vietnam war was very controversial. I was drafted into the Army and no I didn't want to go to that war. Many off my classmates and friends either came back in a box, without a leg or mentally wrecked. After basic I was shipped without leave to the arm pit of the Army..TigerLand jungle training at Ft. Puke, Louseyiana. Drill Sgt School stabilized me in the states for the rest of my tour since I was training troops. I looked at it this way..I was instructing trainees on how to save their buddy in battle and themselves since most where drafted too but on their way to combat.

Really, let’s cut it out and get back to the topic. No one is playing “Billy big Bollocks”. Some of us have had colourful pasts, it does not make anyone’s opinion more valid than another. Where one is geographically located doesn’t automatically make one more knowledgeable than someone else. I am here because I love to collect jackets, I like Freewheelers jackets. I have some other brands. I come here to see what others have learnt, experienced or think. Let us have some civility.

The fact that I'd rather spend my weekend giving my family quality time than obsessing over the postings of strangers on the internet seems to be quite a revelation to some. Its a comment on the quality of their life, not mine.

But seriously, Japan experts who've only ever been to Japan on holiday, and Vietnam war veterans who never set foot in Vietnam? WTF kind of place is this?

BigJ... you just can't give up your forum fight either. That has been your main purpose here about something for years. I never served in Vietnam so I am not a Vietnam war vet. However I am an Army Vet who did serve during the Vietnam war. Your belittling of my service isn't appreciated. When did you serve? I would have loved to had you in my training company for eight weeks of jungle training.
