Who knows about the Schott 673? Sizing and fit, specifically. An idle browse happened me onto this, and I think it looks fabulous.

Obviously you know I usually prefer a cr, but my goodness this looks like some kind of a thing. Schott's sizing recommendation suggests a Small for me for a slimish fit, and I'm spot on a 40 chest.

How about for riding? Looks pretty sturdy in the photos, but that's just photos.
I like that one too. Especially the hide. I only wish they’d been a bit more aggressive with the collar. A bit too tame for me. A good overall design though.

Review here it comes: ordered late April, maybe May 1st. So the speed was great, on time. Benny took the order, top notch patience. Chose the nylon lining, medium weight cow, camel color stitching. Regular V yoke at back, diamond pads on shoulders & smooth pad on elbows, sloped shoulder, western front yoke, & most notably the D pocket. Jacket is stiff, a bit like the old Schott HH with felt, shiny, very black, unlike the 2000s that seems a bit blue. Honestly, I can’t tell if this is their horse or cow, feels like the horse according to the sample I got, maybe a pleasant mistake, unlikely. Fit is spot on, I mean, even their rack jackets fit like this. Lots of forward & chest room. The nylon lining is beefy, the whole jacket is not heavy but rather cardboardish, once it’s on you don’t feel it. For me this is just fantastic, although I do appreciate the weighted feel & some area restriction in the Schott, Vanson or Aero. My Bates T2 is a bit like this but 100 times drapier due to the soft cowhide (tumbled must be). The padding makes bending a tad limited but will loosen.

M OST ergonomic makers: Langlitz, GB, Bates, Vanson, Californian. Others are repro-themed so cant really compare.

Hard act to follow but anyway, ELMC Californian en route

Dont downplay the ELMC Cali...its a fantastic jacket, really easy to wear, VERY versatile.

Which colour did you go for? Generally I prefer the Walnut but I was wearing my Black one yesterday with grey jeans and a black henley and I was loving it.

Edit: added one more pic which shows the Royal blue colour really nicely.

Langlitz colored leather is supple from the get go but still thick and substantial.
Love the blue!

With use she will break in nicely.. the shoulder pads and elbows make movement a little difficult at first but the leather will break in marvellously.
Like wearing armour but without the burden . Thanks for the review!!!

I ordered a Sheeley made jacket. Should be ready November-December...and look a lot like this:

Vicenza horsehide with belted cuffs and a slant zip in nickel rather than button chest pocket.

I spoke to Dave earlier in the spring about making me a Four Corners type jacket. I wanted a thicker hide than he had available so I passed.

I am interested what you think once it shows up and I'd love to see finished pictures. I'm excited for you.
