That's too bad, but it looks like you did a great job repairing it.
Yeah Denny recommended an adhesive that I applied and I smacked it with a rubber mallet. Little shoe polish and it’s essentially undetectable. It’s a good thing it’s as thick as it is. Certainly the thickest leather I’ve ever had. But knowing that that’s there...I could never sell it in good conscience. Not for anywhere near what it’s worth, even second hand. I’d throw the irreplaceable tag on it as well. I’ve not seen another hide like it. Maybe Dan T’s HWM. That’s about it.

I forgot that this included more than just leather jackets. I have to add my Conner's Sewing Factory WWII Type I jacket to the absolute keeper list:

Thanks, I just went with my usual 42, I've a 42.5 chest, which seems to work OK, a little extra length wouldn't have gone amiss, but overall I really like it as a knock around, chore jacket.

My keepers are my brown aero fqhh Highwayman (first and greatest purchase: it's too heavy for Taiwan so it stayed in the UK), seal goatskin 1950's HB (perfect weight for HK/TW winter/spring) and the tumbled cordovan Maxwell (it's too heavy for TW, but I brought it anyway as the colder months and will still help wear it in, and because it's new and there's no point just leaving it on a hanger.

If I could only keep one, it'd be the Highwayman, though. Aero's goat comes into its own when dealing with more humid climates- it's substantial without being unwieldy (which HH is in those climes). The goat worked fantastically well in the relatively milder Asian winters, and, like HH, showed no signs of any mould or being affected by the summer heat in any way. Shanghai or Seoul in the winter, though, and you need the weight.
