Honestly, I specc'd an extra 1/2 in. in the arms, and it worked out perfectly. The body I never notice as my pants change on a regular basis.
I measured my GW out of the box, and wrote the numbers on a piece of paper I keep in the pocket...
That is a good idea.
The whole "how we wear our pants" is such a huge factor in how jackets look.

My Aero Teamster lost half an inch of backlength between me receiving it and me selling it two years later. I know this for sure because I did infact measure it upon receiving it. And while I can't confirm with same certainty the same has happened to other Aeros of mine, I do have seen a LOT of Aero jackets, particularily coats, with a saggy lining, both in my possession and on eBay.
Have not had and length loss like this on any of my Vansons or other makers so my best guess is it is somehow related to Horween tanning or leather properties.
Either way, the loss is so minimal it won't affect wear, you will only notice if you get out the measuring tape. Never order too long.

but imo not all sagginess in the liner means the leather is shrinking, sometime the lining material is just expanding due to wear, on the sleeve I guess the leather creases more so the liner appear longer after sometime, but on the back where the leather panel don't crease much, the liner that is always pulled downward as we wear the jacket or stretch our back when we bend will expand and sag eventually I guess.
