Hi Ernest. My apologies. Mine is a replica of a German Observers Watch, or Beobachtungsuhr, manufactured by Laco. Laco is one of the original 5 manufacturers of this watch for use by the Luftwaffe from 1942 to 1945. It is known as the B dial configuration versus the standard A dial in use until 1941.

You all know, that I just love to support the friendly-priced "working class" and no-bullshit watches, all people can afford. And I wanted a stretch-strap, after a long long time. So, here we are:
Base metal, stainless steel back, stainless steel strap. The strap seems to be a typical one of the very popular, versatile "Fixoflex"-type straps.
20 bucks, so I think, it's surely again the cheaper Morioka Singapore quartz inside.

Nice.... my favorite as well. Just last week I scored a perfectly working 1941 Elgin
U.S. ARMY A.C. white dial (the other is my 1943 Elgin A-11.) Something so elegant about the early white one! I only paid $200 for it! the backside is a bit worn but still legible.

just plain old risky eBay! I took a chance on them.. and got lucky.
I had the white dial authenticated/verified as 100% correct and original by a trusted source in the know. it also came with a theater made trench art aluminum wristband. (which is probably why the back was a bit worn down) a lot of guys used versions of these as the leather and cotton bands would catch on things and break. I was lucky in that I saw the white dial post within the hour it was posted with a "buy it now". claimed to have found it at an estate sale in FL. (don't they all say that? LOL!) it looked darned nice and I thought it may be a rebuild with replacement parts and figured for $200 it was still worth a chance so I bought it. lucked out that its the real thing and runs great! Now, my other one has a NOS replacement crystal part. A 1943 case 1944 movement. Being companies worked in "fiscal years: the movement could be very early 44 and still match the 43 case and still be the original match.. but who knows. I just like that it runs well. the backside of the black dial is corroded a bit. the plating has deteriorated a bit probably from wrist sweat over the years from previous owners. The white face case is almost flawless save a few very minor scratches and the wear on the engraving on the backside.
