How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Tonight I FINALLY unboxed my first real leather jacket, a CXL FQHH Aero Hooch Hauler. The leather is gorgeous and smells great, and the jacket is so stiff I can't bend over in it :D. The fit is better than I expected right out of the box, and I have high hopes that as it breaks in it'll eventually look great (and less shiny!). Some fit pictures are attached. Please excuse the shiny gym shorts, but it's not cool enough tonight to wear the jacket and long pants o_O

I really want to thank @El Marro, @ProteinNerd, @torfjord and everyone else on this board who patiently engaged with all my newbie questions and helped me sort through all the possibilities, to end up with a jacket I think I'm going to love. You guys are a fun and supportive community, and even if I don't get the jacket fever you share (I hope), I've really enjoyed being part of it.

Beautiful, perfect fit. I have an Aeromarine but would love one of these or something similar for warmer months. The Hooch Hauler seems to be one of the best fitting Aeros

Potential jacket.

I was looking at a used RMC Buco J-100 repro but fit is a bit strange. A 40 is a bit on the small side while a 42 would fit up top in the chest and shoulders but is much too long. I then thought about an Aero Board Track Racer but Aero's fit is a bit strange for me and I don't like Vicenza or CXL so I dismissed that idea quickly.

I figured why mess around and just get a jacket made for me that fits right. I like to mix up the brands I own but have decided to explore buying a 2nd Langlitz, but in a Cascade in goat with some options I have come up with.

Stay tuned I guess. This won't happen for a few more months since I am waiting on hide samples.

How long was the 42 RMC? Im surprised it would be much longer than a 40

Well this Schott has arrived in Perth Western Australia and fits true like a 44 USA made Schott. labelled "L". Fits good
Sleeves would be"short" for motorcycling but it has no storm cuffs or zipper sleeves so will most likely be an "non" bike gig
I have given it a real good search and no country of manufacture obvious.
It does have a white label that says..(Both English and French)

26.8" which is pretty long. I find measurements on the RMC J-100's are kind of all over the place, even on the same size. Unless I can try it on, I won't mess with the inconsistencies.

I remember reading this same observation about the odd sizing of the RMC J-100 a few years ago from another member here.

I just bought the RMC J100 in a 46. It is surprisingly long. I love the jacket but feel it’s about 2” too long to be perfect. I’m corresponding with Alan at Johnson Leathers to see about shortening the hem by a couple of inches. The zip ends 3” above hem so shortening may be able to be accomplished without altering the zipper.

I love everything about it except that one thing.

I'm sure Johnson can modify it easily without it being noticeable.

JL is on my list to get a jacket from one of these days. They make some really nice custom stuff.

Thanks, NZ! I seem to have lucked out on the fit, but obviously I agree that the HH is one of the coolest styles around.

I thought the J-100 pattern originally was a longer cafe racer, in the race shirt tradition. Part of the unique look of the J-100. I have avoided RMC in this style because they are all too short. In a 42, I would want around 27.5 inches for the back. I'm 6'2".

Seb,
You would probably require a size 44 in the RMC J-100. I'm a slim 40 and my RMC J-100 is a size 42 and still fits quite slim. The 44 still might not be long enough for you though.

Thankya - this one has the white label as well. I’m curious if your hide will be similar.

Mine also has very thin and soft leather - borderline flimsy...:(.

My black one-pocket HD Sportster is a tank compared to this.

But is fits like a glove and is an original 60's HD so I will use it as a warm-weather jacket. Fit pics next week in case anyone's interested. But if someone thinks that these brown, white-label HD cafe racers with two breast pockets are made with steerhide - they are not. Feels more like a damn lambskin...
