Yes, this jacket is closer to a 38 or 40...
I would have thought the seller msi-measured, but the photos have a ruler in them...
These older Aeros fit true to size in my experience.

I bid, but did not get this Hercules. If someone here got it, congratulations! It sold for $599. This is a style of Jacket I do not own, but want to own. Anyone out there have one or a lead on one let me know. I need something closer to a 42/44 This is not quite the look I am after and this one would have been a bit small. These do not come up often and typically bring top $.
Interesting jacket, but its main zipper seems to be changed, new zipper looks to be period correct but that repair work looks quite sloppy because of untidy seams of new main zipper. $599 seems to be a bit too much for this particular item, I mean the auction ended up at an overpriced level finally didn't it?

I've been after one of these for a few years. I see about one a year in this combination. The last one I think brought $800. It was a standard 1/2 belt. Even smaller as I recall.

For as much "patina" as the shell has, the lining is in very nice shape. I didn't think Aero did artificial distressing to their leather, but it could have been done after the fact, but it doesn't look like real wear to me. If it is, it could be the jacket was re-lined recently.
Generally it is not clear either it is artificially aged or real wear. I think it's really worn.
I had such a gift jacket. But unfortunately it was very big for me.
