All one needs to do is look at the seller’s crappy images of cell phone photos to know he isn’t above board. Too lazy to take proper photos = too lazy to provide full disclosure to potential buyers.

Bad auction photos really irritate me. In a crowded place like eBay, you’d think sellers would want to provide quality photos to “market” their wares.

Agree 100%. Poor photos, especially out of focus and/or crap lighting is an immediate red flag for me. It's almost like the seller is purposely hiding something.

Yeah, I agree but there are well intentioned folks that just don’t take quality photos. Or really know what they are selling (most of the Cals on eBay). Or take poor measurements. Or don’t understand how customs and international logistics can result in delays and additional payments. Etc. But you are right, this seller is not being straightforward. Glad the buyer is a member. At least eBay seems to always side with the buyer, which protects us while making this seller’s behavior more irrational.

It really doesn’t take much effort to take a quality photo. It’s a given that buyers want to see clear, focused images in good lighting of anything listed on an auction site.

Cal leather Horsehide Vintage 80’s USA Police Patrol Motorcycle Biker Jacket L https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/202734860279

What"s that old saying caveat emptor. Here are 4 pictures of that jacket. In true vintage form the jacket has had a police badge removed from the right arm, it has had a Harley-Davidson patch removed from the back, it has 2 chrome studs attached to the waistband to permanently hold the belt, while this isn"t bad if you don"t wear the jacket while riding but if you take the belt off while riding they will surely scratch the paint. It needs a new liner, it has plastic main & cuff zippers. Other than that the jacket is a true vintage piece and I'm a total time wasting American that didn't want a true vintage jacket

I'm sorry but...

1. The police patch stitch holes are clearly visible in the original listing.
2. It doesn't seem that the Harley Davidson patch has been sewn in. Is the white residue left on the jacket glue or is it a removed top coat?
3. The chrome studs obviously served a purpose to the previous owner and therefore simply CANNOT be perceived as an issue.
4. Ditto for the zippers. Looks to me that the jacket originally came with plastic hardware and that has got absolutely nothing to do with the seller nor does it warrant for a complaint.
5. Lining needs repairs but that's also been disclosed in the listing, albeit somewhat vaguely.

State of that one belt loop should've been mentioned but regardless, you bought a 50 or so years old, used jacket. You wanted a jacket in a better state, I get it, and that's perfectly fine but, and I apologize if you don't agree, you did get the jacket you paid for...

Ok. I get it. I like to ask for one, if it isn’t forthcoming then I carry on. Many of my jackets have been purchased from older gents (and a few ladies) who are not tech savvy, that’s all I am saying. But I understand where you are coming from, absolutely.

Differences of opinion are the point of forums, but let's try to keep this thread on topic and avoid devolving. That transaction is over and done with, so we might as well all move on. The additional information on the jacket's condition is of course welcome for anyone considering buying it.

I'm just trying to illustrate that approaching an auction with such mental set can make literally anything an issue and a flaw. Creases in the sleeves, uneven grain, brown core, etc. - potentially all this becomes a problem. And then we can just kiss the idea of ever selling another used leather jacket good bye.

People can get overly picky, but this is why items need to be fully described and clearly photographed. I get what you're saying, though.

I thought this Dyer looked familar. Probably the same jacket I owned several years ago.
