This is a common, pre-HatCo, Resistol re-order tag:
I believe this is from the mid-50s or so. It's also a felt hat.
This is the reorder tag in my Resistol Milan, which is likely mid-to late 60s, judging by style, design, and price:
Yours is different, and handwritten. Was it made in Italy, or was the body made in Italy and the hat finished in Texas? Difficult to tell. I suspect yours is a mid-to late 50s hat, though, and made for the US market.

Thanks. It was an Ebay purchase for $30. I don't usually buy vintage straw hats but it intrigued me. I've also written to Resistol for information... Do you know of any place that might be able to repair the stitching on the sweatband?

I was looking for somewhere to put this. I think i found it.
Dobbs Milan straw. Not sure how old it is. It’s hard to tell when fairly pristine.
A very delicate soft straw with the finest weave rows i’ve seen. I’m so used to front pinches this one seems odd.

Hi, O.K., WOW, just basically wow. I love it and hate it. I think I'd swing more to the love side if the brim were wider and the Milan ribbon was a different color of Milan. Never heard of that one before.

Stetson Sundowner in navy blue. The 3” brim and breathable weave make for a nice summer hat. I’ll reshape the crown some day as the is Milan (hemp?) responds well to steam and is easily shaped.
The Stetson pin on the bow is now removed. I’m not much of a fan of such adornments.
A nice inexpensive summer hat, and it makes for a nice change from all the light colored “straw” hats.

Only recently came across this thread. You each have such beautiful Milans—and some quite unique.
Other than in those “brisk” winters of 50 degrees where the lightest of felts will work, I find I mostly wear straw here in Savannah—the Great Humidor of the SouthEast.
I also have a non vintage Dobbs and a Biltmore Milan porkpie; fun hats indeed.
