My Double Breasted Suit

Piggy-backing off of my friend, Feraud's thread, I also bought a double breasted suit recently. This one is brown pinstripe. I am becoming quite the brown suit-guy lately, by the way. ;) That is fine, since all of my hats are brown or gray.

I bought this one for the bold lapels and the weight of the material. I sent it to the tailors with my tails and just got it back, and today was the first time I wore it. I am very pleased with it. The tailor took the jacket in perfectly. It fits exactly as I wanted.

So, everyone, what do you think?

Very nice! I really like the brown w/pinstripe.
Spill on the details. Who makes the suit and that nice hat!
Oddly enough, the suit has no tags except for the wool tag. [huh]
The hat is my vintage Borsalino that I always wear; the one in my avatar and the one I wore to NY. ;)

Thanks for all of the nice comments. :)

And thanks to Daisy for taking the photos. :)

On Hiatus. Really. Or Not.
Terrific suit, HJ...

The photos are a little too dark from the flash. When I loaded them in to my photoshop program and increased the brightness I could see the pinstripes and details very well. (Unfortunately, bud, it made YOU look a little pasty! :eusa_doh: ) You need to go some place SUNNY for a while!

That is a sharp suit. Great find!

I don't know Zemke, the Arizona sun hasn't done much for my Casper-white skin, and I've lived in the desert for 20 years! lol
Thank you, Darling. ;)
And yes, I guess the Arizona sun didn't do much for me either. [huh] :)

Zemke, you can post one of those photos; just cut off my head. ;)

6StringShooter, I found these shoes in Venice in November. I wear them all of the time.

Hem, is it a new suit or did u go vintage again?
Made to measure or designer?

I'm a big fan of the brown suit look. Many people eschew brown as its not a power color like a blue suit. But surely its perfect for the classic minded.

The doublebreasted suits you.

tho it might be able to handle a littl nip in the waist as in your avatar's suit.

It is a vintage, but I believe vintage circa 1985 or so! I had the jacket remade and the photo doesn't quite do it justice. The lens distorts a bit, but it has that slight pull that I like and it really couldn't be taken in anymore. The fit is perfect; anymore and it would be open at the bottom button.

I like brown also, as stated above. ;)

Thanks for the nice comments, My Friend. :)

Ok, what are the particulars. I could use a pair of those dress boots. :D

Regards,

J
Hello, Mr. Powers, ;)
I'm afraid they really are no particulars. I bought them from a small shop in Venice for 120 Euros. [huh]
They're comfortable though and I like the color.

Well, I'm terribly upset, HJ. It's still way too stinkin' hot here to even go near a suit, so here I am, nearly bursting at the seams to sport a sharp DB number again and what do I see? You lookin' a gazillion bucks and like you just stepped off the set of a 30's movie. Now I've really got the bug!

The suit's a winning colour, and great lapels!

Very good looking suit there Hem, the color goes good with those shoes. Let's cut the guy a little slack, he is in Boston in the dead of winter, so of course he's going to bleach out.:D The drape on the jacket is excellent.

Thanks Benny, I appreciate that! It won't be long when our situations are reversed! ;) lol

Very nice, I like it quite a bit. You are a master of the curled hand pose, like you used to be military at one point, thats one habit you never get out of.

120 Euros for shoes, my goodness, I long for the days when I graduate from school and can afford to spend money like that.

I can't even afford to have my blue pinstripe DB tailored, let alone my WWII Navy Uniform. Blah.
