Can't really help you here, I'm only 5'9", so nothing I can compare to. But if the 27" backlength worked fine for you, two additional inch may indeed be too much. But then again it depends on how tight the wool knits at the waist are. If they are reasonable tight, the jacket will sit on your hip regardless of the length and the extra inches will just gather at the waist.. but ey, I really wouldn't risk it if the jacket is not returnable.

Yea the non returnable factor might be the biggest issue. In my next life, I want to be a normal sized man hahaha.

I am the same height and personally feel that circa 27" is about right for my height-That's in a jacket without a knitted waist though.

I'm 6'1" and I once had a G-1 that had a back length of 28. It always felt a little long and I tended to tuck the knit up under the leather. It bothered me so much I sold it.

The sleeve length is usually related to the back length. How long are the sleeves, and how do they compare to your other jackets?

Well I'm 6'5" and I wouldn't buy a jacket that is longer than 27". I had an Eastman A2 in a size 42 XL and I sold that one because I felt it was way too long for an A2. For some reason a back length of 27" works very well on a M422a or G1.

Okay, I think that helps answer my question/talk me off the ledge. Haha. Looks like I’m on the hunt for 27” sleeve and back length then.

29” back length is extremely long for an A-2, that is car coat length for most people! That jacket must have been made for a very tall man indeed.

Are you sure that M-422a was truly 27" in length? It sure felt shorter when worn. I don't recall the measurements. That was a cool jacket.

Hey Nick!
Yea, Brett’s original post claims it was 27” back length and 27” sleeve. I think I recalled measuring it when I had it and sounds about right.
