The crease is a mix of a Dakota/Canadian with a slight pinch (inspired by a hat I saw from Olivia Wilde wear).
Here she is! I can't wait to wear her out

I got a few photos today that have me pretty excited. It was looking like my hat was going to take some time due to felt availability - but as dumb luck would have it my size was written down wrong and boom!

Going with a Dark Moss with Cactus ribbon and brim binding 5 1/2 open crown 2 7/8 brim. Just trying to decide if I should put some curl on the brim like his highwayman or just keep it as a classic flanged brim. What do you guys think?

And I do love quality over quantity so I'm hoping just a few that I absolutely love will be enough. I got a lot of compliments and this color silverbelly is exactly what was missing to complement the lighter clothes in my wardrobe (basically white) that the Stetson 7X can't quite do. I love that hat but it's much more of a statement piece I have to plan my wardrobe around I find than with this hat, I can top it off and it'll likely work, probably because it has less color and more grey tones in it than the Stetson.

Here is what I wore it with today, I've been wanting to wear this outfit for a long time, but I didn't have the hat.

You sure can get more modern customs made for yourself in the $300 range - but holy cow doing a search on Ebay for vintage in your size brings up a bunch of perfect condition stuff for 70% less. I am jealous being a 7 5/8. My vintage market is significantly smaller than yours and the prices are significantly higher.

• 2 cheaper customs rabbit/hare I got made in Montreal (my first customs and gateway into hats after moving on from the cheap wool hats) that I wear for music festivals or occasionally but they have been pushed very far aside now that I have these other babies.

Quite the envy, I've always known I had a small head but I'm a small person (well I'm average according to Wikipedia) who knew that would play to my advantage! As soon as I came on this forum, I acquired 3 Stetsons very quickly and I was not prepared for that in terms of knowledge and even spending money on them that quickly. But I'm glad I did!

Now it's just about not getting more. My coworkers think it's funny and they keep going how many hats do you have? And call it a hobby which I guess it is. But I am also good at limiting myself with "basics" and I don't wear my hats every day either so I get what I feel is necessary for my wardrobe and wants. I think I'm good with what I have now (geez I hope).

I have a 3" flat brim with a raw edge from Michael in dress weight ... had for probably close to 4 years now and never had an issue.
... though it does have a slight pencil curl ... which I don't think make a whole lot of difference.
might be worth a try if you venture another Gannon

Did you check with Michael? With your head size they should be able to get a 3" brim out of a dress weight felt. I have a fat 7 3/8 almost 7 1/2 head and I can get a 2 7/8 raw edge from a dress weight.
