Do you ever miss Scotland,,asking for a friend :)
Must be a friend of yours as I don't have any haha !

Only been back 3 times in 25 years , always for "family reasons" , not the best reasons and in October 2005 the weather was "bowfing"

Came another trip in May 3 years ago for my mother's 80th and there were some nice days. She lives down on the lower Clyde and some days the Clyde was glassy all the way across to Helensburgh. Beautiful in the extreme.

Next day was HOWLING PISH but of course you know this.

The scenery here in Western Australia is not so "grand" , but the vistas are huge to a far horizon.
275/290 DRY DAYS per year depending if it's a "wet" winter or not ! You kinda gets used to that since 1990's onwards.
Most of my "new" mates here are expat Brits , a few Scots amongst them. A few "Serth Effricans" as well.
ALL motorcyclists bar none !

For our local run today I will be rugging up under the Eastman Luftwaffe (my warmest leather jacket) as it is a 2C start. Frost when I walked the dug (dog!) this morning. Long sleeve thermal T shirt under my "disco gear".
22C on the ride home. Coupla "coffee" stops already planned on the route.

"Home sick" pangs disappeared for me way over 20 years ago , the missus took a wee bit longer. All good now.

Do I "miss it" ? Well of course , and not too deep down neither. "Such if life" to paraphrase Ned Kelly...

Finally it’s cold enough to wear leather again! Today I’m wearing my Royal blue Langlitz cascade. This leather is one of my all time favorites: thick, soft and grainy. No break in period, comfy out of the box! I strongly recommend Langlitz’s special colour cowhides (I hear that standard medium and heavyweight black and brown are much stiffer to begin with).

I remember snorkeling solo right off the continental shelf at Ningaloo Reef Xmas 1994 after a month of driving slowly down from Darwen and sleeping on a swag. Took me 3 days to pluck up the courage. Very big fish below. Cape Range national park deserted except for me, girlfriend and roos. WA is stunning.
Leith has ferocious wildlife too.
