It has a small broken piece that I will ask my daughter Alisa to mend (next-to-last pic). Other than that it is better, I think, because the metal spring that goes around the base is still very strong. I have to take it to him, because although I have seen him use it, I need a refresher course.

Thanks, B. I'm quite fortunate to have a good wife (who supports this hat hobby) and two wonderful kids. Trying at times, but the snuggles alone make it worth it.

Unfortunately I did not catch anything. Probably because of the awesome sandwich I enjoyed in a nice shady grove of Ponderosa pines. Certainly was not because of my fishing skill. So I think you are on to something.
