Months later, I saw it being worn in a local bar, and immediately approached and removed it. In such a small town, I knew it was my hat. I also even knew the offender, a friend of my brother’s. At his 100th birthday celebration a few years ago, here is Nate (his brother/business partner, Ben, actually) checking out the hat he sold me. He remembered!!!

It’s a little dusty, but at least I knew exactly where it was.

We went to the Oktoberfest in Mt Angel today. As before, only a few gents with fur felt hats. Most people had wool hats covered in pins. I didn't see any pins or feathers I would put on my hat.

There was one older gent with a badger hair "brush" attached to the back of his hat that must have been 8 inches tall. I'd never seen one quite like that before.

We walked around a lot, had a bier sausage on a stick with some great brown mustard. Then wandered over to Glockenspiel restaurant and had lunch there out of the sun. Sandra had cabbage rolls and I ate an enormous Reuben sandwich.

A. Breiter Trachten Hut for me and Sandra in a similar style traveler made by Borsalino in a nice felt, but kind of a golden mustard color...
