Oktoberfest ends on the 1st Sunday in October. It starts in September so there's enough time for everyone to get a beer before it's over.
I hope so too. I have a lot more luck with maitake than I do with morels.

Not mine, the eBay seller's. It had an interesting trip to my house: Virginia > Cincinnati > Grand Rapids > Cincy again, then Dayton. I struck up a convo with the seller during this and learned a bit about Grandma Anna, who was apparently the feisty sort. I like to think it was perhaps left behind by a Gentleman Caller sometime during her younger years. [emoji6]
Damn, that's a nice, no, beautiful, no, excellent hat, Ken. Congratulations!First outing with the VS remodel of a very vintage Montecristi (maybe 30's / 40's). Just back from the Sat morning farmers market. Got stopped twice about the hat, inquiring minds. Art tells me he used a new ribbon color called Tree Tan (light brown with a hint of pinkish/orange. The knot is a marshmellow creme color.

You should definitely wear a Homburg more often, Eric. Must be hard to choose though with your excellent collection. A fine aray again today. My [emoji145] is once again off to you, sir.Some mornings are slower than others. On this slower morning I am wearing a homburg. I was the only person walking thru the park reserve in a hat, much less a homburg. The local wildlife, birds and my dog did not voice any negatives about my hat choice. I am taking this as a thumbs up on wearing more homburgs.
Speeding up slowly - I headed out for errands in a cap.
Yard chores and grilling some lunch in a vintage Stetson Playboy.
It has warmed up this afternoon to 74'f and 70' humidity. Time for a Supernatural Tulcan Panama and some Peat's coffee.
