I’ve been toying with the idea of asking Alan to move the otherwise useless belt/buckles on my PHWM up 5” to the traditional HB position. Is this a bad idea? I can’t convince myself either way. I’ve mocked it up with some clips. I think doing this would allow me to pull in the torso just enough. Bad idea/terrible idea?
Has anyone ever tried this?

Would you keep a jacket or two that didn’t fit 100% right if they were first rate jackets from a top manufacturer ie.. Good Wear? Or should these be released back in the "pool"

Well, when i started i also fell to this "perfect" fit direction, and ended up with a very snug GW, and sold it after few years =) now i bought two new jackets: LW LT in 4oz HH, and FW Mulholland in brown hh, both of them are considered top tier, but point is i even bought them in different sizes. My LW LT is 44 and the purpose of this - to layer a lot and to be able to wear heavy flannels and cozy sweaters etc etc. This jacket will serve more like a winter coat lol =) and FW is 42, and its a "perfect" fit perfect with t-shirt or a shirt or tiny sweater, more for spring/ autumn. Also it's very dependable on other clothes you wear, for example my oversized LW is PERFECT with wide jeans and heavy boots like Whites or Viberg. But with the same stuff FW will look awkward ad unbalanced, i wear FW with slim jean and alden shoes or some common projects sneakers. So right now "fit" for me is a subject to consider based on overall look, wardrobe and season. And definitely i will keep different "fits" in my wardrobe, but only it i like them and i can wear them at least a season per year.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but maybe? Has anyone ever purchased a jacket from eBay seller mintvintage66 out of England? Seems to have an ongoing stock of old leather jackets in seemingly good shape.

I have. Always been pleased with the purchase. My only gripe is they use Ebays GSP to ship. That often triples the delivery time. Items I purchased were always good though.

I bought twice from them, the first time the jacket didn't fit and i sent it back without issues.
The second time the jacket fit fine and was as described and i kept it.
Only thing worth mentionning is the same think @jacketjunkie mentionned, the second jacket stank but nothing was mentionned in the add. It is still airing on my balcony six months later.

I bought one jacket from them. The GSP stinks, but that's not their fault. The jacket was extremely conditioned and colored to the point that it felt sticky when I got it. I don't know if they treat the jackets themselves or if they bought it that way.

You’re probably right. I don’t need another half belt. But yeah that might end up souring the back panel. The HB (besides the actual belt) has a curved back panel where the HWM does not. Probably over thinking it.

The jacket looks awesome! Really! You’re overthinking it! Honestly, looking at your pictures makes me want to have my PHWY even more!!!

Yeah I’m an expert at ruining things by overthinking it. It’s kind of my super power but in reverse.

I can feel you - I am exactly the same. And the worst thing: I overthink before I make decisions, but even after making the decisions I start to question my decisions by asking “what if....” something I am really working on to get rid of...
