Lost Worlds A-2

This is the magnificent LOST WORLDS reproduction of the iconic AAF Russet Horsehide A-2 Flight Jacket.

This horsehide leather is a strong 3.0-3.5 oz., and the color is actually the correct darker russet, not orangy or too red. I’ve had it for about a year, worn it in a large rotation, and the beautiful grains are just *starting* to develop... BUT we all know Lost Worlds horsehide is nearly indestructible and built to wear a lifetime in any condition, so this jacket will take you many more years to actually break it in.

Talon zippers, in EXCELLENT condition. Snap buttons close and open with a satisfying click. Materials and jacket made in the U.S. This LOST WORLDS jacket drapes on you like a comfortable hug, and it looks good and is very breathable. It can be worn through many seasons.

I just don’t have the chance to wear this A-2 very much. So, as I’ve worn this jacket very little, the knit cuffs and bottom hem are in EXCELLENT condition. The lining is perfect. The horsehide leather is beautiful.

Measurements:

—Pit-2-pit: 20.75
—Shoulders: 18
—Sleeves (to end of knit): 25.4
—Back length (from bottom of collar seam to end of knit): 23.25
—Front length (from top of shoulder at collar to end of knit hem): 25

Lost Worlds sells it for $1,200. You can get mine for $395, shipped USPS Priority.

Here are some pictures taken yesterday. I’m 5’7” - 5’8” (depending on slouching). I weigh 150 pounds. I’m wearing very low-riser jeans (which I shouldn’t have for these pics).

I was afraid you'd say that but at 20.something" P2P, I fear taking the risk. Is it exactly that, jacket laid flat and measured right under the arms?

Yep—jacket laid flat and measured from EDGE to EDGE. Measured a few
times with two different measuring tapes. Pictures:

Yep, wouldn't be able to zip it up but... If there ever was an A2 I wanted to have, it's this one. Everything is just right. But man, LW really doesn't mess about with the size numbers. Their 38 is an actual 38. Which is cool!

Thank you either way, @Powerband!

You bet, Monitor! And, yeah, LW doesn’t do vanity sizing! Cheers!

This is so tempting. It would fit me perfectly. The A-2 design has never grabbed me before, but this one sure looks good.

Man powerband you’re determined to get me into one of your jackets. I really don’t think I’ll enjoy wearing a jacket with a knit waist but every other month or so I seem to get obssesed over A2s (among so many other things). This seems like a good chance to scratch that itch. Pm inbound.

PM replied. A flight jacket is a must in any collection—like a pilot watch, or a chronograph, or the Omega Speedmaster to go with your Submariner, Datejust and Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso. [emoji846]

I hated flight jackets. Saw a G-1 for sale on here actually for a really great price. No it’s my go to fall jacket. It really is a must.

I am glad this sold before I saw it. It is almost exactly what I am looking for and though I am positive it would have been tight in the chest, I might have been tempted to do something stupid.

I would estimate the chest would be 21-21.25" You cannot get an accurate measurement by laying a tape loose on top of the jacket. You need to use the proper technique to get the accurate measurement.

Pinch the tape on left side between your thumb and fore finger, pull tape tight, pinch on the right side. Pick jacket up to remove slack and wrinkles, Read the measurement.

A Lost Worlds jacket is too heavy to pick up. A team of stevedores would be needed to measure it that way. Sorry, just jumping on the LW hyperbole bandwagon. Anyhow, I bought the jacket and its great. It’s 15f here. I put it on yesterday to shuffle around in the house just because I missed it.
