Army boots, Danish m/58. Which do you use?

Hello out there!

I just bought my first pair of old army boots. These are really rare. Danish parade ankle boots in brown, from the uniform system m/58. Here are a few pictures. Found them in a local thrift shop, the old rubber sole just crumbled but the leather is really good, actually incredible. Having them resoled with rubber as I wanna use them during the winter so leather is no good. I gave them a quick polish and 60 year old mirror shine peeped out.
I am interested in what kind, if any, you guys use.

I have Vietnam Jungle Boots, but dont wear them, I prefer civilian hiking boots, much more comfortable for everyday use

plus the weather is very mild, not much snow or harsh weather in California

Those look exactly like US Army WWII service shoes. Probably not a coincidence since we supplied with military equipment Denmark after the war.
I have done a lot of military reenacting over the years so I have a LOT of military-style boots:
One original pair service shoes very much like yours and a repro pair that I wear more.
One pair repro rough-out style (later war).
One pair repro double-buckle style, one original set also- my favorite
One pair Corcoran paratrooper boots - not comfortable to me regardless of what you read.
One pair original Vietnam boots
Even one pair of original cold-weather shoe-pacs - warm if you're sitting still but terrible to march in

You can't do good reenacting without good boots.
Tennessee is a great place for reenacting.The Army thought so also during WWII and they held multi-Divisional training maneuvers here from 1941-1945.

That's great! The boots however are after a 1923 pattern en evolved. The uniform is also after a British pattern 1937, but in this edition there was American gear, yes. Helmet, shovel and so on and of course the infamous Garand m-1 called M50 in Denmark. My dad was in the army in '72-'73 and they still used it. I like this style of uniform much more, they got a wool-poly blend in the late 60's and it is miles away from this.
I really like the 3 buckle cavalry boot but those are impossible to find.

You've managed to have them resoled? I held onto two pairs of German para boots and I pair of Timberland hunting boots (not the usual pattern) for years hoping to have new soles attached and wear them again. I tried traditional cobblers and even a company that specialised in military boot repairs, all said they couldn't resole even when I offered extra cash. In the end I chucked them when I had a clearout and bought a pair of new army issue Haix boots. My boots are worn around horses and all weathers and occasionally on my bikes, I'm so envious of your repair services.

During my university years I picked up a pair of Brit squaddie boots (same standard issue from 1996 that I think they still wear now - I see less of the army these days that we did in pre-agreement Belfast

). Wore them hard for seven or eight years, then the soles split and they got sent to recycling. These days, I might have tried to have them resoled (I can't recall if they were resoleable; they replaced the Falklands era DMS boots which I think weren't, from memory). Briefly had a similar pair of boots that were RAF issue - same look but vastly lighter. Herself commandeered those a few years ago. Somewhere I have a pair of Brit Ammo Boots, likely 50s - not worn them much owing to the hobnails and horsehoe on the heels. Also have a pair of brown Scandinavian boots (Swedish, I *think*) that are similar. Got a pair of William Lennons that are made on the British WW1 B5 pattern, except shiny black leather an extra-thick soles, I love those.

Yes, they are double stitched as you can see on the picture from the kitchen. The leather is really good, so not an issue getting them resoled.

Great story! I do know about the Swedish surplus ones. They look a bit like the Danish from the same era but the Danish model has a rounder nose and the heel is not make for ski bindings as the Swedish are.

I've long been a Corcoran guy. They have several styles I like, from WWII era to present use. The paratrooper/jump boots with "fancy" toe cap are classic. The ones with vintage uppers paired with newer technology soles are incredibly comfortable and good for all seasons. I keep an eye out for both Swedish and Australian surplus, but I never see them in my size.

Ernest, what size are you? I have seen some pretty big ones in the Swedish model. Do you have a picture of the Australian model?

Anywhere from size 9-10.5US. I don't know the Australian model name, or how they might be generally known. I've only rarely really looked on ebay. Like many I'm sure, I go through phases. Search every day, but then move onto the next fascination.

they make some nice WW2 reproduction USMC rough out boots that would make good outdoors / camping boots

I prefer the ankle or low profile type, these would make nice casual wear boots with jeans, I like the shape of the Army Rough OUTS.

Are those rough outs made for sale in the Corcoran line or for other repro companies? I think I found 2 of the 3, but those websites aren't exactly transparent. "Made in the USA" is the only hint.

I would only trust them if they have the Corcoran name, other repros could be made by somebody else

I can't find any direct Corcoran links, but no big deal. The ones I think are Corcoran are $250+.

Photo is WW2 Impressions back in 2017. I think the roughouts army selling at At the Front and RRL (RRL not Polo) are also made by Corcoran.

I know I'm late to the party.....but these Australian boots your talking about.....are you talking about the black version (there is two.....leather soled and another one called "Sherpas" (from the name of the screwed on rubber soles)
Or the brown WW2 type(one is leather soled and the other has big brass cleats for jungle use)?

I haven't looked for a while, and now that I just did, I didn't find any like I used to watch. They were definitely black and lower cut. "AB"? These might be it, but at least very similar to the ones I had on my watch list. I'm not sure whether I'd like leather or rubber lug soles. I hope you can see them. pinterest links suck.

I have a pair of Australian army black GP boots I was issued, that I've hardly worn in the past 30 years. I also left with several other pairs in the later issued 'baby poo mustard' colour that we got after switching to DPCU camo uniforms. I wore those out hiking and traveling, since they didn't look so military. I think they issued a green colour before switching to a nylon desert boot in the late 90s.

I have a pair of those sitting around at home in a size 7 if you're that size?
I prefer the ones with the screw on soles since they don't slide on the pavement where I am in Sydney lok
